CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION Please Note: REGISTRATION FOR CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS IS NOW EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE. Online registration for all programs & crafts/activities will begin on Monday, June 9 at 10:00a.m. for Plainedge School District residents. Each child you register will need a valid Library card with a PIN established. To create a PIN: Go to “My Account” at the top of our homepage & and click on the “Sign-In (with instructions)” option. A current email address is required in order for confirmations to be automatically sent to you about your status, registered or wait-listed. Samantha Raiten will be the instructor for this cool science craft. PERLER BEAD PROGRAM Monday, July 14 4:00p.m.-5:00p.m. Children entering Grades 1-5 only Children will make and keep their own designs using perler beads. We’ll provide the beads and the templates. CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS continued 2014 SUMMER READING PROGRAMS Fizz Boom Read Summer Reading Club (For children entering 2nd through 5th grades) This Reading Club begins on Tuesday, July 1 and ends on Thursday, July 24. The Library provides all materials the first week of Reading Club during designated times. All reading is done at home. Children come back to the Library once a week (Tuesdays between 1:00-3:00pm or 6:30-8:00pm, Wednesdays between 9:45am-12:00noon or 1:00-3:00pm, or Thursday between 1:00-3:00pm or 6:30-8:00pm) with reading charts and report forms for book discussions, stickers and prizes. Club members will be invited to a special performance in August. Time Travelers Read-To-Me Club (For infants up to children entering 1st grade) The Read-To-Me Club begins Tuesday, July 1 and ends on Thursday, July24. All reading is done at home between adult and child together. Parents and children come back once a week (Tuesdays between 1:003:00pm or 6:30-8:00pm, Wednesdays between 9:45am-12:00noon or 1:00-3:00pm, or Thursday between 1:00-3:00pm or 6:30-8:00pm) with reading charts for stickers and prizes. Participants are invited to a special performance in August. Cosmic Kids Picture Book Time (For children 2 years of age by 7/02/14 up to those entering 1st grade. Picture Book Time begins on Wednesday, July 2 and ends on Wednesday, July 23.
