MSF fun run

This event is taking place on the bank holiday Monday (4th
May). Committee are happy for this event to proceed and so
JCG can give permission for this go ahead.

Looking at Thursday chilled night at Casablancas, and a beer
and burger night at Hobgoblin.

Graffiti night for after Hustings - committee agrees that this
could increase attendance so think that this event can be given
the go ahead.
Glitter night last night made £60 for MedSoc.

refreshments provided by potential fresher reps.

AL recommends producing short presentation by each
committee member to introduce roles and give insight into their
place in MedSoc life.

AL asks that any amendments for the constitution need to be
sent to him before the AGM so that they can be discussed then.

Need to contact freshers reps to ensure attendance and
presentation.

Further to short presentations at the AGM, JDS suggests
creating summary reports of each role - looking at
achievements, plans and areas for improvements.

Here follows the dates, times and locations for the AGM and
hustings:

AGM in room A501 of Checkland on Monday 27th April
(18:30-20:30)

Hustings in lecture theatre C218 (usual lecture theatre)
on Friday 29th May (18:00-20:30)
JDS would also like to replicate previous SurveyMonkeys used
to ask members what they make of MedSoc and what they
would like to see us doing.

RAG week

Takes place on the week commencing Monday May 4th. JDS
suggest open mic night - RJ has spoken to Falmer Bar. They are
operating holiday hours for Sussex students so need to clarify
whether can hire Falmer Bar outside opening times. Week
wristband to cost £5.

Tuesday 5th - pirate theme for CU Next Tuesday at The
Arch
●
Thursday 7th - Wilderness Society would like to carry
out RNLI swim but only 12 people so shouldn’t disrupt
attendance - committee is happy for this event to
continue

Friday 8th - cake sale and Starbucks
●
Saturday 9th - Revolution for foam party. Downstairs is
hired privately for MedSoc only.

Date of next meeting
Querying a bottle opener for merchandise - extra £2. Want it
engraved, JDS suggests BSMS MedSoc engraving so that they
can be sold to all students.

This is a social event for end of phase 1 exams. There will be a
lot of pressure around exam for organising event - SOB would
like help for the event. JD suggests less formal organisation for
the event - just need equipment and time. People can organise
themselves.
SOB and NP
Formal end of phase 1 drinks is to be organised and MedSoc
will provide drinks. To be discussed at a later date.
JCG and JD
To be held Friday 22nd May. This will be a 3-course meal with
wine costing £16.50 - SOB suggests £1.50 to be subsidised by
MedSport to make £15 tickets. Committee is happy for this to
happen. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Trophies to be ordered and arranged.
SOB and NP
After party options are Shoosh or Coalition. Committee prefers
Shoosh and would like to have wristbands for non-sports
members. Social Reps to put SOB in contact with
organisers/promoters.
JCG, JD, HC and
PW
NP and SOB query subsidy for entry to club - this is dependent
upon cost of night out. On the door payment may be preferable
rather than being included in the meal ticket.
