Winner of the Duet Singing Stars will receive $500, a trophy and
perform live on stage the night of the Singing Star Competition on
June 13th.
Auditions start at 6pm on April 17th at Riverview Elementary/Middle
School 3rd floor Forum.
Registration Forms may be filled out the day of the Auditions but it is
recommended to call (276) 935-5725 and reserve your spot as there
are a limited number available.
Be prepared to introduce yourself and your song choice to the judges.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
It is my wish to participate in the Buchanan County Duet Singing Stars Audition (April 17th at Riverview
Elementary/Middle School) & Competition (June 13th at Poplar Gap Park) sponsored by the Buchanan County Fair
Committee. I understand, appreciate, and acknowledge that property damage and injuries are common to such
events. I fully assume the risk of such property damage and injuries, and I participate in this voluntarily and with
my full knowledge of the inherent risks.
I hereby waive and release any and all rights that either my heirs, successors and assigns or I may have
against Riverview Elementary/Middle School, Poplar Gap Park, Buchanan County, its Board of Supervisors, their
agents, servants, and/or employees, arising from my participation in this event, including, but not limited to
property damage and injuries. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless all of the foregoing from any claim
which may be made by me or on behalf by other third parties which might be made against me by others, arising
from my participation in the foregoing event.
This waiver shall remain valid and may not be unilaterally rescinded by the participant. This form is to be
signed by the participant parent or legal guardian as they are under 18 years of age.
In addition to the release and waiver of liability, signing this form acknowledges that you have read and
fully understand the Buchanan County Duet Singing Stars Rules. Also, by signing, I give permission for my or my
child’s name and image to be used to advertise this event and to announce the winners of this competition in the
local newspaper and radio.

Duet Singing Stars Competition RULES
1. All Buchanan County Duet Singing Stars Participants are open to all ages.
2. Cannot be in a contract for talent representation, current music recording contract or agreement relating
to the use of your name, voice and/or likeness or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit
you from fully participating in the competition.
3. If you win the Duet Singing Stars Competition you must agree to perform on the Main Stage at the 2015
Buchanan County Fair on Saturday, June 13th during the Singing Star Competition.
4. Winner will be decided from a professional panel of judges. They will be judged on the following Song
Choice, Stage Presence and Vocal Performance. No feedback will be given to the contestants on stage.
5. Audition song can be sung a cappella, by a track or each can play a single instrument (you provide). Song
choice must be of good taste with no profanity, vulgar or inappropriate lyrics. This is a family event for all
ages young and old. All song choices MUST be approved by the 2015 Buchanan County Fair Committee
prior to performing on stage.
