With our exceptional customer centered service mechanism, BE continues to add more banks in its list of Solar Powered ATMs for the year 2014 95 villages, 24,000 people,20 Districts Buksh Foundation, under its project Lightening A Million Lives, pioneered in providing solar energy to a total of 95 underprivileged and unelectirified villages in Pakistan in year 2013, impacting lives of 24,000 individuals. The project plans to reach out to 4,000 villages with a total of 1 million lives lightened by 2017. The target is to provide sustainable energy to far flung rural off grid areas of Pakistan which account for 57% of the population. 95 “Roshna Bibi” / Light Lady/200Technicians In 2013, Buksh Foundation took the women economic empowerment initiative by converting 95 women into female entrepreneurs for solar charging stations. A total of 200 technicians were also trained for the project.
