FACTION SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Congratulations to Gold faction on their victory at the swimming
carnival. They obviously “pooled” their talents and with their “depth” of
ability “swept the pool” with wins. Red was second, Blue was third and
Green was fourth.
Congratulations also to all participants who gave their best efforts in
the novelty events and made the carnival a great success. It was
fantastic to see everyone “having a go” and supporting and
encouraging their faction.
Congratulations to our champions and good luck with the school team
in the Interschool Carnival.

P & C Busy Bee
This Sunday 29 March will be our first Busy Bee for 2015. It will start at 9am and conclude at 12noon.
Morning tea etc will be provided. Thank you to the fourteen willing gardeners who have volunteered
their skills and energy - I realise some people will not be able to be there for the full three hours due to
other family and sporting commitments. Tad, our gardener, has planned four projects for us.
Change of Newsletter Day
This term the Newsletter has been issued every second Thursday. Next term we are reverting to Friday as it has
been for several years.
Swimming Carnival
Last Thursday we had our annual Faction Swimming Carnival and Gold emerged as the winner great effort Gold!! I would like to thank Mr Boyes and Mr Pascoe for their great preparation and
running of the Carnival.
Traffic Congestion
In our latest list of communications from the Department of Education, they again ask school
principals to implore their school communities to be extremely careful driving beside the school at
all times, particularly near the start and end of the school day. This is an issue across most schools
in Western Australia.
At a local Bull Creek level, for safety reasons, we remind everyone to not walk through the staff car
parks and stick to the pathways.
Have an Enjoyable Holiday!
This is the final newsletter for Term 1. It has been a most enjoyable term - we have our new
uniforms; we have welcomed our new Kindy students; we have welcomed several other
students throughout the year levels; we have completed our swimming lessons; our Year 3 and
Year 5 students are doing diligent preparation for NAPLAN testing next term; and, the children
seem to be enjoying and engaging in the many lessons their teachers have done with them.
School finishes next Thursday 2 April. For the students Term 2 commences on Tuesday 21 April. The
children do not attend school on that Monday. The staff will have a School Planning Day which will focus on the
new Australian Curriculum and our IPS (Independent Public Schools) Business Plan.
Well Done to our Parents and Citizens’ Association
Two weeks ago our new six metre by six metre Bike Shed
was installed. The shed is of strong construction - the
concrete footings were installed on one weekend and the
shed constructed the following weekend. The P & C raised
approximately $25 to $30 thousand dollars last year. The
new Bike Shed cost $11 thousand dollars (nothing is cheap
nowadays!!!). The old bike enclosure has lasted forty years
and we do hope the new Bike Shed will last another forty.
Thank you to our P & C President, Tara Snell and everyone
who helped raise the funds for this substantial addition to
the school.
