The Welsh Government’s Action Plan for the Food and Drink industry 2014-2020 is designed to deliver sales growth of 30% in the Food and Drink Sector to £7bn by 2020 with a broad vision that included fuelling growth by “Cutting Edge Research, Innovation and Knowledge transfer” The vision for Wales is to build an effective, responsive and sustainable culture that can stimulate and practically support the Welsh Food and Drink industry and allows WG and businesses to invest in and embed innovation best practice. This encompasses harnessing expertise, funding, networks and resources across Wales, the UK, EU and globally. .
