Presentation on Surviving an Active Shooter to be Held April 23 George Hughes, chief of University Police, will present “Seconds to Save Lives: Surviving an Active Shooter Incident” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. April 23, in Chumash Auditorium. The program will provide an overview of proactive safety measures for an active shooter situation, how law enforcement responds, and what people on campus can do to increase personal safety. Tomato Mania Plant Sale April 11-12 More than 65 varieties of tomato plants will be available at the annual Tomato Mania plant sale Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, at the Poly Plant Shop. Moonglow, Beefsteak, Shady Lady, Alaskan Fancy, and a selection of cherry tomato plants are just some of the varieties that will be available. The 2015 program is directed by a team of six students who have grown more than 5,000 tomato plants from seed to provide home gardeners with quality plants that will produce fresh tomatoes throughout the summer. The Poly Plant Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., located on Via Carta Road in Building 48.
