Hello Parents:
As we get closer to winter
time, and with the end of daylight savings time, please be
very aware of dropping off and
picking up students. To be
honest, it’s very dark outside
and kids tend to be kids...even
with their principal out there
directing traffic, middle schoolers can do the most amazingly foolish things.
A couple of tips:
Have your student ready so
that when you pull up to drop
them off, they can just hop out
of the car and you’re on your
way. When they aren’t ready,
the traffic gets delayed and
drivers get impatient. Do your
best to avoid having lengthy
conversations when you’re
dropping your child off in the
school drop-off zone in front of
the school. Please be patient
and keep your eyes open for
foolish students dashing
across the street. We lecture
them all the time about common sense, but kids will be
kids and make bad choices.
Thanks! Mr. Z

Monday, November 3rd started a
new quarter and a new opportunity for students to avoid both suspensions and Saturday School.
To review the rule, students get up
to 5 tardies during a quarter with
no consequence. At the 6th thru
9th tardies, the students receive
Saturday School for each tardy. If
they miss Saturday School, they
are suspended.
On the 10th tardy and beyond,
students receive a suspension
each time they are tardy. Please
plan on getting your child to
school no later than 7:53 a.m. in
the morning, which is when the
entry bell rings. The tardy bell
rings at 8:00 a.m. for first period to
begin and students should be in
their classrooms by that time.
Let’s work hard to make sure that
students not only arrive to school
with enough time to make it to
class, but use common sense and
not linger in the halls talking to
friends between classes.
