H2HUB (RY6211) The H2Hub is a compact and cost-effective solution for: • Localising Hydra2 I/O box connection points • Increasing the I/O box capacity of a network • Extending the physical range between router and I/O beyond that of a direct connection H2Hubs function similar to slave router cores, but in a portable package with low power consumption, and simple DIP switch setup, making them ideal for forming ad-hoc networks in the field, or for extending network spurs in fixed installations. Localising connection points for I/O box positions means each I/O box does not need its own direct connection to a router, which can significantly reduce the overall amount of cable/fibre that needs to be purchased and run, saving direct cost and time. A H2Hub connects to a Hydra2 network via a Master or Slave router/console core and extends 5 connections to I/O boxes or other hubs (see example overleaf). Up to 64 hubs can be added to a Hydra2 network. Each connection is via redundant (primary and secondary pair) copper or fibre SFP. Additionally, units can operate as split redundant pairs: A units passing primary, and B units passing secondary backup audio connections. H2Hubs are the same 1U “half-width” package as the Fieldbox, with the same power options. calrec.com Putting Sound in the Picture H2HUB (RY6211) Connectivity Each hub has a dedicated upstream connection which must connect to a Master, or Slave Hydra2 router, either directly, or via other hubs. The remaining 5 downstream ports are available to connect I/O, or to another hub’s upstream port. Upstream connections cannot be made to an Expander card. Downstream connections cannot be made to a router.
