Prekindergarten Registration dates set for 2015-2016 school year
FORT BEND ISD – The prekindergarten experience can have a great influence on a child’s educational career and
helps set the stage for lifelong learning. To facilitate the enrollment process, Fort Bend ISD is hosting a
centralized registration event for FBISD four-year old children who are eligible for prekindergarten.
The School Board recently adopted a District-wide Feeder Pattern and Boundary plan to serve as a guide for
current and future growth within Fort Bend ISD, and also approved new attendance zones to align feeder
patterns. Therefore, the prekindergarten registration process has changed for the upcoming school year and
prekindergarten students will now follow the outlined feeder pattern and boundary plan.
To be eligible for prekindergarten, a child must be four (4) years of age on or before September 1, be a Fort
Bend ISD resident, and meet one of the following specifications:





Limited English proficient because a language other than English is the primary language spoken in the
home (Students qualifying by language will be tested to determine placement in the program.), or
Qualify according to the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines (Parents must bring proof of income for
April 2015, documentation for at least one month of income, including current check stubs, child
support statement of payment, or SNAP qualification letter, etc.), or
Be homeless, or
Have current or previous conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services, or
Is the dependent child of an active U.S. Armed Forces member or a U.S. Armed Forces member who has
been injured or killed while on active duty.
Important Reminders for Registration
 Registration packets will be available district-wide at all elementary campuses and at the Administration
Building from March 30 through April 10. PreK registration will not be offered through the online
process at this time.
 In order to expedite the registration process, families should have all registration documents complete
prior to arriving at the event.
 To register a child for prekindergarten, families will need a copy of their child’s birth certificate,
immunization records, social security card, proof of income (if applicable), and proof of residence. Proof
of residence should include a deed, lease or mortgage agreement, a current utility bill (gas, water or
electric) and an unexpired Texas driver’s license (or other government provided photo ID) that contains
the address of the parent or guardian residing within the FBISD boundaries.
 For rental agreements, all adult members of the household over the age of 21 must be documented on
the lease agreement.
 For multi-family households, all adult members of the household must have an updated driver’s license
(or other government provided photo ID) that reflects the homeowner’s address within the FBISD
boundaries.

Seats will not be held because of missing documents; therefore, it is important to present all necessary
documents at registration.

Blue Ridge, Briargate, *Burton, Colony Meadows, Drabek, *Fleming, Glover, *Heritage Rose, Highlands, *Holley,
Hunters Glen, *Jones, Lantern Lane, *Mission Bend, Mission Glen, *Mission West, *Parks, Pecan Grove, Quail
Valley, *Ridgegate, *Ridgemont Early Childhood Center, *Seguin, Settlers Way, Townewest, and Elementary
School 46. (*Indicates campuses that will offer bilingual PreK classes.)
See below for prekindergarten registration dates, times and locations. Based on residence, parents will attend
only one of the registration events below. Please use the School Finder tool located at
http://www.infofinderi.com/tfi/address.aspx?cid=FBI-2B3JIB4YNDI on the FBISD website to determine your
zoned campus. Spaces for all eligible students will be available in the prekindergarten program, but please be
advised that students will be scheduled for the morning and afternoon sessions based on availability. For each
date below, registration times are from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
