GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Classes are 55 minutes in length unless otherwise specified. All classes are free to members or
covered by your day pass fees.
We suggest that participants arrive early for class. Please be advised that late entry to yoga
classes is not permitted. Sign-in sheets are available for all Yoga and Spin classes 15 minutes
prior to class start time at the Fitness Centre Desk.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
You must be 14 years of age or older to attend group fitness classes.
Child minding services are available for ages 2 months to 12 years. For non-walkers, please call
us up to 3 days in advance at 902.490.2400 or visit the Customer Service Desk to arrange.
Children ages 8-11 years may use other parts of the facility while you’re in class, so long as you
are 18+ years and remain in the building. Please note children 7 & under may not use the pool on
their own and must stay within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian (18+ yrs) throughout the
facility.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS
We try our best not to cancel classes; however if we need to, you will find the information on our
website, on Facebook, on Twitter and on our internal notice boards at least one hour in advance.

CYCLE PROGRAM
Rise and Ride
Push your athletic abilities, burn mega calories and improve
your performance with this interval-based spinning class.
Simply Cycle
A cardio workout on a stationary bike based on cycling
principles. Classes are technique based and/or real terrain
based and focus on cadence, heart-rate zones, climbs &
sprints that can make an unpredictable ride that is fun and
challenging

ZUMBA
ZUMBA! ® is a fusion of Latin, International and popular
music/dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective
fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval
training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that
tone and sculpt the body with easy to follow dance steps.
ZUMBA GOLD
ZUMBA! ® GOLD modifies the moves and pacing to suit the
needs of the active older participant, as well as those just
starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.

CARDIO & CONDITIONING
50+ Club and Fit & Fab
Super fun full conditioning class designed for the fabulous
50+ or those with some limitations.
Core Essentials
This class will challenge the entire "core region" through the
three planes of motion. Learn floor, stability and Bosu ball
exercises that zero in on the abs, lower back, glutes, quads
and hamstrings. Experience both dynamic and static
movements to help improve both balance and functionality of
everyday living.
Low Intensity Fitness Therapy
Great class to increase range of motion, coordination,
balance, and strength. Participants may stand or be seated
during exercises. All are welcome especially new
exercisers, those who may or may not have physical
limitations due to illness, injury or disuse. Use it or lose it!
Zumba/Conditioning Blast
30 min of ZUMBA, mixing low- intensity and high- intensity
moves for an interval -style, calorie burning dance party.
Then 30 minutes focussed on full body conditioning using
weights, balls and bands, ending in a beneficial stretch.
Perfect for all fitness levels with low to high intensity options.
Tabata Toned
Need a change of pace, try this amazing workout based on
maximum output intervals with short breaks.
Athletic Conditioning
30 minutes of cardio, 30 minutes of strength and
conditioning; the perfect mix for all of your athletic
endeavours.
Calorie Kicker
Join Amber for an amazing calorie burning workout! Amber
is certified from Fitness Kickboxing Canada and shows
proper technique of punches, knees and kicks to ensure a
safe, fun class! Along with heart pumping music and great
choreography, anyone can walk into class and feel like a
pro.
Cardio Sculpt
Our Sculpt class meets Cardio Conditioning in this fusion of
the two. Full body strength and conditioning using a variety
of equipment including but not limited to resistance tubing,
hand weights and even your own body weight.
Cardio Conditioning
Full body muscle cardio conditioning class that will have you
movin’ and groovin’ and toning and strengthening.
Pump’d
Barbell workout designed to strengthen all your major
muscle groups in an inspiring and invigorating setting. This
class gets back to basics and uses traditional moves to
deliver great results.
Sculpt
Full body strength and conditioning class using tubing, hand
weights, and your own body as resistance.
Cardiokick HIIT
An aerobic workout using martial arts kicks and punches
combined with constant movement. The result is a rigorous,
high intensity workout that can help you burn fat fast,
improve circulation, improve stamina and endurance,
sharpen reflexes and improve coordination.
Step
45 minutes of basic to advance stepping, and finishing with
10 minutes of abdominal exercises.
MIND | BODY | SPIRIT
Vinyasa Flow
A yoga class suitable for beginners and intermediate levels
with emphasis on foundation and alignment.
Pilates – Mat Essentials
This class involves a series of controlled movements that will
engage both your body and mind. The primary focus is on
awareness of the spine, core strength and flexibility. The
outcome is a balanced body which is strong and supple, flat
stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back.
Relax & Release
A yoga class that focuses on stretching every muscle in the
body. A great way to support your body in recovery from
fitness classes, lifting weights, athletic training and overall
sore muscles. The perfect way to prepare your body and
mind for the week ahead!
Lotus Help You
Learn invigorating yoga postures and breath work while
building strength and power to help you face the particular
challenges of your day.
Fluid Flow
60 minutes of bending, balancing, and breathing are packed
into this invigorating yoga flow. Stretch, tone, and strengthen
your body. Creative sequencing and modified instruction
make for a fun and inclusive class.
A Breath of Fresh Om
Slow down and deepen your yoga practice. A vinyasa
practice that focuses on quality transitions between postures
and awareness of breath and mind.
Assume the Pose
This yoga-based program will touch on withdrawal of the
senses, meditation and a state of joy and peace.
