Date: May 12, 2015 From: Photo Exhibition Committee (Marilyn Bui, Fan Lin, Huamin Wang, Lizhen Gui, Zongming Chen and Lanjing Zhang To: CAPA Members Message: Call for Entries to CAPA Photo Exhibition The First Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) Diagnostic Pathology Course (Aug 22 to 24, 2015) is approaching. We are looking forward to this informative educational program to update our medical knowledge in diagnostic immunohistochemistry. We also welcome the opportunity to interact with old and new friends to foster future collaboration. One of the social events scheduled on Saturday night (August 22, 2015) is a Photo Exhibition. Don’t worry, we are not asking for your headshots, but rather we would love to display your artistic, non-pathology photographs that are outside your daily life as a pathologist. The Photo Exhibition Committee will screen the low resolution photos for the appropriateness of the content to be displayed during this event. Each -CAPA member can submit up to 3 photo images. Each photo should have a short title (less than 10 words). A less than 30 word caption explaining the artistic inspiration in either Chinese or English is preferred but not required. Each photo requires $10 non-refundable submission fee, which should be paid at CAPA website http://capaht.org/capa/html/story/announcements/please-joinchinese-american-pathologists-association-capa. Please put “photo submission fee” as a note when you pay through Paypal. After paying the submission fee at CAPA website, please email the receipt of your submission fee to accompany your photos to [email protected] for screening before July 15, 2015. The committee will reserve the right to decide the acceptance or rejection of the photos (judged by the content of the photo, not the artistic value) and will notify the authors via email for acceptance or rejection by July 31, 2015 and an instruction on how to upload the high resolution original photos. All accepted photos will be displayed in a slide show during the meeting breaks and the Saturday night dinner. Each accepted author will receive an ID number which will be used for a drawing to potentially win a gift certificate during the Saturday night dinner. Each author has only one chance to win regardless of the number of accepted photos. The qualified winner must be a registrant to the meeting. Three lucky winners will receive a $50, $75, or $100 gift certificate, respectively. In addition, all accepted photos will be placed at CAPA website for a period of time (to be determined) and may be used for CAPA marketing purpose in the future, while the authors have the ultimate copy right of their work. We are looking for photographs that are original and reflecting the talent, passion and spirit of your artistic creativity. This is a great opportunity to show case your talent beyond being a pathologist and inspire others. Thank you for your interest in CAPA Photo Exhibition.
