Kathy Worley’s last wishes and hopes are that her two beloved cats can be placed together in a single loving home.
These two grew up together and are family to each other. They truly love and adore each other and one would be lost
without the other. Kathy Worley’s last wishes are that they NEVER be declawed. Suggestions for placement are to first
post out on her FB page and family to post out on their FB pages. Friends Susan Sandlin and Terri McDowell are trying to
help with placement in loving homes. Also a Veterinarian may be helpful here. Kathy Worley would like to say thank you
so very much in advance for your efforts to help find them loving homes. It means the world to her as they have been a
complete family for 8 and 11 years of their lives.
Comments about both Mylo and Sampson
For any cat lover who wants two happy little buddies who will truly bring love and joy into their lives these two are for
them. They are funny little guys full of personality. They are great pals to each other and make faithful loving pets. Just
like people they have their uniqueness and cute little quirks which you will learn and enjoy. The more love you give
them the more love they give back. They were never abused and do not do well with loud noises. It takes them some
time to get used to a new environment but they eventually do as they have moved with the owner 4 times in their lives.
Here is their previous diet which they seemed to do well on if the new owners need suggestions: We really don’t want
them to appear high maintenance this is just what the owner fed them.
1) Dry food (Science Diet Wellness Core grain free either chicken or fish). They don’t do well on food that is not grain
free.
2) Individual cans of “Chicken of the Sea Chunk Light Water packed tuna” fed every couple of days or
3) “Friskies shreds, ocean whitefish & tuna in sauce” they seemed to like and it had the least contamination for a
commercial cat food. They would never eat the premium brands of moist cat food like Wellness, Science Diet, IAMs etc.
4) They have been exposed to a raw diet. An ounce or two of raw ground chicken or turkey mixed with “Better in the
Raw” nutrients was layered into their moist food and carefully disguised with the other moist food they ate. The
mixture of “Better in the Raw” has to be correct or they will not eat. At the present the owner is still working on this
transition to raw which will help with weight control and age related problems as they grow older.
5) They were fed canned foods every other day in the morning and then given a little dry kibble at night. On the canned
food days the owner put a tiny bit of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water in the bottom of their bowl, just enough to make a
good sauce with and added both a liver support powder and a Spirugreen supplement bought from Dr Mercola’s web
site 1) Spirugreen Supergreen Superfood for pets in tablet form and 2) Liver and Kidney Support for Pets. The
Spirugreen tablet was crushed with a mortis and pestle and the resultant powder then divided between the two cats
bowels filled with water. Then ½ scoop of the Liver and Kidney support powder was mixed into the same bowls. It
makes a very nice sauce as a base to next place either the tuna or Friskies can then be added to. They have been on this
for 6 years and it makes a big difference in their health. Their energy soared, and the Liver support powder helped
Sampson recover from years of having a sore back.
The cats each come with their own litter box and scoopers, two large round cushions for sleeping, fluffy throws that they
use to sleep, snuggle in or to knead bread, all remaining food and water bowls, food containers, cat carrier, play toys,
shampoo, nail clippers, food and supplements, flea powder, collars, brushes, flea oil, the skin, health records, mortis and
pastel and pictures.
Sampson Bio
Sampson is the older of the two cats. He is a very loving 11 year old short haired male tabby, has been neutered and still
has his claws. He is a large cat and has a beautiful while chest which runs up through his nose, and also has four white
socks. His birthday is estimated to be around April 2004. He showed up at our back door as a lost little “fur ball” years
ago. We believe he was accidently transported to our home on a truck filled with pallets of pavers. He is very happy,
friendly, talkative, and an assertive little guy. It does not take much to make him purr. He loves people and is highly
intuitive. He seems to have the ability to tune himself into someone he knows well. He knows the word cookie (which is
a kitty treat) and will become animated and very talkative when he hears the word cookie. He is known to come from
out of nowhere when the cookie bag comes out, you don’t even have to call him. When he is afraid, feels threatened or
is hurt he will growl like a dog. He used to have a little sore place on his lower back and when rubbed there he would
growl or make licking motions because it bothered him. After being put on Dr Mercola’s liver support powder, he
seemed to get better quickly. Sampson is a dominant and assertive cat. He can be vocal letting you know that he wants
something, either to go outside or come inside, when he wants to show you something, or when he is greeting you. He is
cat door trained. He will also scratch at the window pain when he wants in or out. He does not do well in a room with a
closed door and likes to have the ability to roam freely. He is much slower than his buddy Mylo. He has a sweet strong
little voice. He is mostly an inside cat who likes to go outside. He does not like other cats and is very protective of his
environment although he loves his little buddy Mylo who he raised from a kitten. We have never met a person who did
not absolutely love Sampson. They say he acts more like a dog than a cat. We believe Sampson is highly intelligent for a
cat. Sampson likes to play with string and will carry a string around sometimes making little whimper like noises. Who
knows what this means but we know he is not in pain and it’s some kind of bizarre connection he has with the string, we
think maybe he believes it’s a snake. Sampson likes to be picked up and held like a baby. He will give you head bunts if
he likes you and also nose kisses. He likes to be rubbed but not roughly. You can rub him on his belly but you have to be
slow and angle your way in or else he will bite at you softly or grab you with his claws. He will also do this if you play too
rough but he will not hurt you. He makes a great companion and will follow you anywhere. He likes both human males
and females and not used to being around children. Sampson liked to walk in the woods with his owner and behaves
much like a dog scouting around and checking back in. He will come running to greet you when you arrive home. He
will come on command when called or by hand signal for the most part. Again the word “cookie” gets him to do
anything. See above write up on his previous diet for suggestions. Sampson has not been immunized for a while being
that he is an older cat and the vet does not recommend immunizations other than rabies. Sampson is sensitive to
certain topical flea products. He does not do well with the cheap flea products so we always bought the prescription
type products and not what was easily obtained off the pet store shelf. He should always be watched for a few hours
once a flea produce is applied. If he starts to act agitated or anxious then you must wash it off of him immediately.
Based on iridology Sampson seems to have great genetic constitution and is strong as they come. Thus the name
Sampson fits him in the biblical sense. Where he sleeps was always dusted with Herbal flea products containing
(rosemary, lemongrass, and eucalyptus oil). He eats grass outside and during the winter months we grew cat grass in a
bowel for him to munch on. He will imitate trying to cover his food bowel with dirt after eating. This is something they
do in the wild to cover their food to keep predators away. Sampson seems to have carried some living out in the wild
survival characteristics genetically because he was never mentored by another cat. These characteristics are interesting
to watch. It may take a little time for him to transition but we believe he will do well with a loving owner(s).
Mylo
Mylo is an 8 year old medium length gray hair male cat who is sweet natured, neutered and has claws. He was
purchased from Pet Smart from a rescue group in Short pump, Virginia. He was one in the litter of many and was the
most playful and energetic personality of them all. His last rabies shot was March 2015. His name was a result of the
two words My Love - Mylo. He adores his older buddy Sampson and still always lets Sampson be the king after all these
years. He will let Sampson eat his food or give up his spot on the bed or carpet to him. Sometimes the owner had to
intervene on behalf of Mylo when Sampson tried to eat Mylo’s food. Mylo is still very quick and playful; he can climb a
tall tree to the top but knows how to get down by himself also. Mylo still acts like a kitten in personality. He can get the
best of his bigger buddy Sampson because of his quickness. Sampson doesn’t like this and will let him know verbally
with high excitement. Sampson sounds scary but it’s all show as Sampson tries to run away from Mylo. Mylo and
Sampson act like two little brothers constantly playing which occasionally it turns into a squabble. They always make up
that day or within a few. It’s really quite comical because they act like little kids. They truly love each other and would
be lost without the other. They constantly groom each other. The pecking order of Mylo and Sampson comes from
Mylo being mentored by Sampson from a kitten. Mylo is not assertive like Sampson. Mylo warms up to other cats but
can be cautious and will watch them silently for a long time. Mylo is a gentle lively little guy. He loves to play with string
like his buddy Sampson and also likes to chase after a laser light. He is quick as lightening. He blends into the
background easily due to his gray coloring and will sit quietly and observe. We have given him the nickname “Stealth”
because of his ability to stay under the radar. As heart breaking as it is to watch he can easily snatch a bird or chipmunk
with ease. He can be vocal at times. He likes being inside but also likes to go outside and scout around. Mylo likes to
chase after weeds when pulled and thrown in the yard. He makes a game out of everything. He is a lot of fun and funny
to watch. He likes to be rubbed and will let you know exactly where. He purrs a lot. He is not much on being held like his
buddy Sampson. When Mylo feels threatened he will run the opposite direction. He likes to eat treats and identifies
them with the word cookie. Although he likes cookies he is not in love with them like his buddy Sampson is. He is not
too picky of an eater. Please see above write up on his previous diet for some ideas. Mylo will come to you when he
wants to like a normal cat and can get distracted easily by a squirrel or a bird. Mylo is very aware and hears and sees
everything. He seems to be very intelligent too but very low key. He likes to be brushed. Mylo has had ear mites before
and was put on Tresaderm and ear wash “Otecitic Flush” in 2/2105 Banfield Clinic. This seemed to get rid of it them. He
hates getting his ears cleaned but because of his longer hair and being an inside outside cat his ears need to be checked
monthly. He comes with an otoscope for this purpose. A holistic vet in Mechanicsville was also consulted and suggested
if the meds did not clear up the mites or they kept coming back it could mean his immune system needs a boost and to
bring him to see her at that point. Mylo is sensitive to certain topical flea products. He has always been on prescription
flea products that can be bought at Pet Smart, Costco or the Vet. He should always be watched for a few hours once a
flea produce is applied and if he has a reaction it should be washed off. Where he sleeps was always dusted with Herbal
flea products containing (rosemary, lemongrass, and eucalyptus oil). He eats grass outside and during the winter
months we grew cat grass inside in a bowel for him to munch on. He will imitate trying to cover his food bowel with dirt
after eating. This is something they do in the wild to cover their food to keep predators away. He seems to learn this
from his buddy Sampson. Mylo is cat door trained and can jump high with ease.
