Southwest Group #1 (BIG plane): Arrive at Louisville International Airport
at 5:00 a.m. at the Southwest Airlines gate. Check in with Mr. Long.
American #2: Arrive at Louisville International Airport at 4:45 a.m. at the
American Airlines gate. Check in with Mrs. McTaggart.
American #3: Arrive at Louisville International Airport at 4:45 a.m. at the
American Airlines gate. Check in with Mrs. Gamble.

We will be going directly to Hollywood. We will not be going to the hotel
first, so dress for the day when you leave home.

What to Bring!
1. Luggage: Limit luggage to one (1) suitcase (you will check but have to carry
from airport) and one (1) carry-on piece of luggage.
Don’t pack anything sharp or metal in your carry-on, like nail files, scissors, pocket
knives, nail clippers or razors. They will be taken from you. Ask your parents about
the rules for flying and liquids, etc. You may bring games, books, and headphones.
You will need a picture ID to check in at the airport.
2. Money:
You will need to pay for any meals not included in the trip package,
snacks, and souvenirs. We suggest at least $30 per day ($150 for the week)
depending on your appetite, just for meals. Breakfast is free at the hotel. The Pirate
Dinner Theatre meal is included. You will be responsible for your own money.
Chaperones will not replace lost or stolen money.
3. Clothing:
 Jeans, capris, shorts (MUST be to fingertips when standing),
 sandals, tennis shoes (comfortable shoes that won’t give you blisters),
 sweater/jacket, (the weather may be cool, especially at night) bathing
suit, beach towel, and nice but casual outfits for dinner are suggested.
 It will be cool when we are on the boat to Catalina Island.
 NO yoga pants or leggings.
 Boys, no earrings!
 Sleeveless shirts and tank tops are allowed (as long as undergarments can’t be
seen)
 No spaghetti straps
 Girls, when flying from Louisville if you want to wear a dress it must be a
maxi dress.
Dress must be appropriate. You will be asked to change if not dressed
appropriately, and if you hold up the group other consequences may apply.
Bathing suits:
Girls should wear only modest one-piece swimsuits (no high-cut legs),
Boys must have boxer style swim trunks. (NO Speedos).
If you are not sure your swimming apparel will meet the expectations, check with
one of the chaperones BEFORE the trip.
General CAL dress code guidelines are to be observed.
4. Bring all toiletry articles.
5. NO IPADS!! Do not bring expensive jewelry and cameras. Do not bring anything
that will cause you or your parents great stress should you not come home with it.
Consider disposable cameras and no purse.
Do’s and Don’ts
1. Everyone must meet for breakfast (whether you eat or not) first thing in the
morning for a head count and information and schedule for the day.
2. Students leaving the hotel for any reason will, and MUST be supervised by a
sponsor.
3. Students MUST remain in groups of three (3) or more (but NO LESS). This
includes any time we are in airports.
4. Devotionals will be held each day at a designated time and place.
5. Curfew—to be announced each night
a. Quiet time must be observed—following the guidelines of the hotel.
b. Students may not leave their rooms after curfews for any reason! ALL
night.
6. Girls are NOT allowed on the Guy’s floor of the hotel at all.
Guys are NOT allowed on the Girl’s floor of the hotel at all.
(NO GIRLS OR GUYS in each other’s room EVER!)

7.
No hint of, possession of, or use of alcohol, drugs or tobacco will be tolerated.
These offenses or any serious behavioral problems will result in disciplinary
measures and may result in the student being sent home on the next available
flight at the expense of the parents.
8. Respect for any and ALL chaperones and bus drivers MUST be shown at all
times.
9. The CAL discipline code applies to this school-sponsored field trip.
10. Girls and guys sitting together may NOT lie on each other’s laps or on the floor
together.
11. NO new body piercing or tattoos of any kind on the trip.
12. PRANKS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED (Yes, this means at Catalina)
