JUNE 2015 MONTHLY PUBLICATION OF CASTLETON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the world. Castleton UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Thanks for the Memories! We are called to be an outward facing circle of people; seeking, reaching and welcoming others to join us in serving Jesus Christ. August 14th, 2002. I was 23 years old my first day on staff at CUMC as the Director of Student Ministries. In the just-shy of 13 years that followed, I found myself: getting married to my beautiful wife Tai; having 3 kids who are now 4, 2, and 7 months; receiving my Master of Divinity; leading 19 different mission trips including one with 60+ middle schoolers to New York City and 6 internationally; witness a handful of students go into full-time ministry; having various ministry roles within the life of CUMC as Director of Young Adult Ministries, Associate Pastor of Family Ministries, pastor of the Sunrise Campus for nearly 5 years, and effective July 1st, be appointed as the lead pastor of a new church start, Gateway Community Church. WORSHIP Sunday Morning Services Castleton Worship Center (CWC) 71st & Shadeland Traditional - 8:30 and 9:40 am (ASL Interpreter at 9:40 am) Contemporary - 11 am Sunrise Worship Center (SWC) 75th & Oaklandon Blended - 10 am Adult Sunday School - 9 am CONTACT castletonumc.org I have had the opportunity to officiate at the weddings of young adults who were with me on day one and have even baptized a few of their babies. One thing is for certain, I have certainly gotten older. My hope is that I have also grown slightly more mature (debatable perhaps), a little wiser, and have gained a deeper understanding of what it means to love with God’s grace. In large part, this is thanks to you as my church family for over the past decade. Your willingness to put up with me over the years, empower me to try new things, to grow as a pastor and follower of Jesus, and develop as a leader has made the ministry I am a part of today that much more effective. I am truly grateful for the countless opportunities I have been given, especially by Senior Pastors Dr. Mac Hamon and Dr. Frank Beard. It is exciting to look back over the past 13 years and see the things God has done and humbling to have been a part of some of it. It gives me great hope for the future of both of our churches, knowing that God is still doing things in us and through us. May we move forward into this future, being led by his Spirit, striving to know him and make him known. Castleton United Methodist Church 7160 Shadeland Station Indianapolis, IN 46256 And now glory be to God who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we could ever dare to ask or dream of; infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. To this God be glory in our lives and in the Church forever. Amen. 317.849.2947 317.849.8595 fax Thanks for the great memories!
