CULTURE OF LIFE PARISH REPS
MAY 7, 2015
SOLEMNITY OF THE LORDS ASCENSION
MAY 17, 2015
It is the goal of the Diocesan Respect Life Office
to assist all pastors, parish directors, and parish
life coordinators in the dissemination of Culture
of Life programs, projects, materials, and current
events. In order to accomplish this task, a parish
representative is necessary in each parish and/or
cluster. Under the guidance of the parish
leadership, the representative(s) would work
with them to implement any culture of life
activity in the parish. Assistance from the
Diocesan Respect Life Office is available. Twice
a year – spring and fall – parish contacts are
called together for in-service and sharing. All
parish leaders are encouraged to appoint a
respect life parish representative and send the
contact information for them to Debra Lieberg:
715-394-0240; [email protected].
Spring meeting for parish respect life reps is
scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2015.
In 2006, the Catholic Bishops of Wisconsin
voted to transfer the Solemnity of the Lord’s
Ascension from, Thursday of the Sixth Week of
Easter, to the Seventh Sunday of Easter. This
was intended to allow a greater number of
people to celebrate the feast with due solemnity
in the context of the Mass. This year, the
Ascension of the Lord is observed on May 17,
2015. It may not be celebrated on any other day.
SUCCESSFUL ADULT FORMATION

Parish, Tony, WI on May 14, 2015 to present
Successful Adult Formation Beyond Bible
Study. The topic will give tricks and advice to
help disciple adults within parishes. The event
is co-sponsored by Our Sunday Visitor. Katy
Maier, our representative, will be present with

Pastoral Handbook. Changes to the 2015
Handbook have been made thus far this year but
if other changes are necessary, either now or in
the future, please note the enclosed form to
facilitate these changes. Before the draft of the

SACRAMENTAL RECORDS FOR
CANDIDATES & CATECHUMENS
Each year, at the Easter Vigil
candidates (baptized Christians who
make Profession of Faith and receive
Eucharist and Confirmation) join in
full-communion with the Roman Catholic
Church. The sacraments of Confirmation and
Eucharist should be noted in the parish
Confirmation and Communion books. The
Profession of Faith and date should also be noted
in the Parish Baptismal Register., under the
“Date of Baptism” column. Any subsequent
marriage for the candidate can also then be noted
in the “Remarks” column of Baptismal Register.
The sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and
Confirmation should also be properly entered in
the appropriate sacramental registers for
catechumens (the non-baptized) who join the
Church at Easter. Contact Debra Lieberg:
[email protected]; 715-394-0240.

CATHOLIC GIFT ANNUITIES NOW AVAILABLE
FOR SCHOOL/PARISH SUPPORT
The Department of Development is excited to now
be able to offer parishioners the opportunity to
participate in a Catholic Gift Annuity Program
through Catholic Extension. As a “Mission
Diocese” this new program will give the diocese
the ability to offer donors an easy way to leave a
legacy while receiving fixed income for life. As a
service to the Diocese, Catholic Extension will
handle all the administration of the annuity that
ultimately benefits the diocese, parish, school or
ministry of the donor's choice. Contact Steve
Tarnowski, Dir. of Development: 715-394-0223,

All are called to share the story of Jesus. This means that family and

friends are meant to be part of this incredible journey of faith. At times,
the story is not easy. Jesus encountered pain, suffering and joy! Relationships require forgiveness, mercy and tenderness. Like Jesus, faith leaders
can provide healing to the broken-hearted and compassion to the lonely.

This leadership training will focus on how to witness to hope!
I knew I wanted to be like them: a committed disciple

The Many Images of Mary
Our time together will consist of discussing how various
images of Mary in art and literature magnify our understanding of who
the Mother of our Lord can be for modern women. A guided meditation
will help lead us into the heart of Mary, so we can respond with a YES to the
Holy Spirit’s desire to reside within us, so that our spirits, like Mary’s, can
“soar on the wings of our Lord.”
