Brother Brezinski, Missioner to Bolivia
Sister Kathleen, Educator Was 94
Brother Casimir Brezinski, M.M., a
missioner to Bolivia, died March 16
at Mission St. Teresa’s Residence in
Ossining. He was 95.
Assigned to Bolivia in 1956, he
served his entire 47 years of mission
ministry in the Pando Vicariate. He served as the vicariate procurator
in Riberalta, and maintained the
radio communication system for
Maryknollers in the vicariate. He
also installed and maintained Radio
San Miguel, a short wave broadcast
station for the Pando mission. He retired in 2001, but at his request
he continued to live in Bolivia. In 2004
he returned to the United States and
Sister Kathleen Hanrahan, S.C., twice
a principal in the archdiocese, died
March 22 at St. Patrick’s Home, the
Bronx. She was 94.
She served as principal of St. John Vianney, 1970-1973 and of St. Mary’s, 19541960. She taught at St. Stephen School,
Manhattan, 1953-1954 and St. Peter’s,
Poughkeepsie, 1940-1948.
She was a counselor for the archdiocesan Family Consultation Services. She
worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center
in Yonkers as a patient representative in
the emergency room, 1987-2008. She had
also worked there, 1973-1978, as a ward
clerk and in the Family Health Center.
For her congregation, she was assis-
resided at the Maryknoll Residence
in Los Altos, Calif., until he moved
to Mission St. Teresa’s Residence last
year.
Born in Sioux Lookout, Ont., he entered Maryknoll in 1949 and professed
his final vows in 1954. He served for
five years in the procurator’s office
at the Maryknoll Center, performing
clerical and bookkeeping work.
During World War II he served in the
Canadian Merchant Marine as a ship’s
radio operator in the North Atlantic. A Funeral Mass was offered March
26 in Queen of Apostles Chapel.
Burial was in the Maryknoll Society
Cemetery.

Bronx. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers.
