CIVIL AIR PATROL UNITED STATES AIR FORCE AUXILIARY CAP OR Wing HQ 28735 Grumman Drive Eugene, Oregon 97402-9542 21 April 2015 MEMORANDUM FOR: ORWG FROM: ORWG ENCAMPMENT CADET COMMANDER SUBJECT: CADET CADRE OFFICER APPLICATIONS Applications for Cadet Cadre Officer positions for 2015 Winter Eagle V Encampment (26 Dec – 2 Jan) are now being accepted. The following Cadet Cadre Officer positions are open: - Cadet Flight Commanders Cadet Advanced Training Squadron Commander Cadet Advanced Training Flight Commanders Cadet Logistics Officer Cadet Administrative Officer Cadet Dining Facilities Officer Cadet Public Affairs Officer Cadet Curriculum and Plans Officer Cadet Standards and Evaluations Officer Cadet Safety Officer We will be doing our best to ensure that everyone has duties to perform and is occupied. We do not want anyone to think that they ‘just filled a slot’, but actually learned from their experiences. Please review the attached memorandum from the Encampment Commander to see the focus for this encampment. Applications for Cadet NCO and Airmen Cadre positions will be opening shortly. Basic duty descriptions for most positions are available in CAPP 52-15 Cadet Staff Handbook. Applicants are encouraged to review CAPP 52-24 Cadet Encampment Guide. Applications are due no later than 2400 (midnight) 23 May 2015. Ideal candidates will have: • • • • A good understanding of the cadet program. An ability to work with other cadets and senior members. A willingness to work hard and expand upon existing leadership and followership skills. Candidates must have achieved their Mitchell prior to 1 July 2015. One of the goals for Winter Eagle V is for the Cadet Cadre to take ownership of the activity and through the mentorship of senior members, plan and execute an outstanding, safe and enriching encampment. Each Cadet Officer will be assigned a senior member mentor within the same area of responsibility with whom they will work throughout this coming year to fully prepare for encampment. Cadet Officers will oversee and lead the Cadet NCOs and Cadet Airmen working under them. All applicants must submit a cover letter (in CAP memorandum format) and CAP resume outlining their qualifications and desire to serve in the top three positions they are interested in. Additionally, they may submit an optional leadership philosophy outline, describing their personal leadership philosophy (see attachment).
