All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.
All items are “as is.”
The auction item value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The
amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult
your tax advisor to clarify amount of deduction.
Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction to the cashier. We accept cash, MasterCard,
Visa, Amex, Discover, or a check made payable to CBMS.
Following payment, we strongly suggest that items be picked up in a timely manner and taken to your car. All winning items
must be picked up the night of the auction, unless special arrangements have been made. CBMS will not be responsible for
misplaced, lost, or stolen items.
Unless otherwise specified, all auction gift certificates must be used within one year of the date of the auction.
Each person bidding assumes all risks (loss of friendships, possible divorce, bankruptcy, etc.) and hazards related to the
auction (bumping, shoving, spitting, cussing, etc.) Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from brawling, throwing objects
across the room, slander, and any liability arising indirectly from CBMS, their elected and appointed Board of Trustees,
members and employees, the auctioneer, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

Constructed entirely of paper from the students cutting work, this wreath first began as a maze design which was cut out into
spirals and then rolled into flowers…a victorious transformation!

The Elm Lower Elementary Community – “Ode to Kandinsky”

This framed piece was the culmination of a project based on the artist Kandinsky and his circles. The color wheel, secondary,
tertiary, and shade experimentation informed the students exploration of hue. Additionally, the students learned about
attraction and repulsion from experiments/demonstrations that flowed out of The First Great Lesson. The colors on the circles
were made similarly to one experiment with food coloring and milk. (Special thanks to Lollapalooza Custom Framing and

The Oak Upper Elementary – “USA – The Upper States of America”

It is a 2’ x 3’ wooden, three dimensional wall hanging of an outline of the United States with individual art work from all of the
students filling in the open space. The Oak Community has studied US History and Geography this year, and wanted to do a

The Maple Middle School Community—“The Courthouse ‘Square’ ”

This framed piece of adolescent art work was inspired by an art project the students did with their Art Teacher Cecelia Smith.
Using a gridding technique, students broke down photographs into grids and used charcoal to copy each square. Once students
worked together to complete all squares of the grid, they were placed together emulating the original photograph while
showing individual student’s artist techniques. (Special thanks to Lollapalooza Custom Framing and Interior Design for their
assistance with this project.)

The Aftercare Enrichment Community – “LABELS”

Tombstone rubbings, often used for preserving inscriptions of family history by family researchers, have also become an art
form that preserves the sculpting on the stone. The ‘Aftercare’ students at CBMS learned about the process and created an
image especially for the Spring Auction. The Artists of the rubbing include: Stella Whisenhunt, Crosby Whisenhunt, Grace
