There are 2 resolutions to be voted on by members this year.
Resolution 1
Be it resolved that CCOC:
1. Undertake a review of the availability and suitability of bike parking at all
properties,
2. Evaluate the feasibility for secure bike parking options at each property, and
3. Report back to the membership at the 2016 AGM with recommendations to
improve bike parking based on the evaluation.
Resolution 2 *
Be it resolved:
1. That CCOC undertake a program to retrofit all units, starting with those that
have people aged 50+, disabled people, and, finally, children, with safety
equipment.
2. That hand-holds, "grabbers", be installed and that bathroom lighting be
examined to ensure that it is sufficient to illuminate the tub/shower area. If
tenants wish, treads should be provided for their bath tub/shower stall floor.
* The Board recommends the following alternate resolution.
Be it resolved that:
1. CCOC supports safety and the principle of aging in place. CCOC also
recognizes that our tenants are of all ages, abilities and circumstances, and
that we have an obligation, within our capacity, to accommodate their
accessibility.
2. CCOC improve tenant awareness of its commitment and obligation to
accommodate tenants’ accessibility needs.
