ABOUT POSITION
CDA Collaborative Learning Projects (CDA) is a small non-profit organization, based in Cambridge,
Massachusetts (USA). CDA’s mission is to improve the effectiveness of international humanitarian
assistance, development programs, peace practice, and corporate operations. CDA’s practice areas
include 1) conflict sensitivity among humanitarian and development agencies, peacebuilding
organizations and corporations; 2) effectiveness of peacebuilding; and 3) listening to populations
affected by international interventions. CDA engages in participatory learning processes with
practitioners in our areas of work and adapts our findings for utilization by a wide range of actors. CDA

The Program Manager is a mid-level staff member assigned specific roles as a team member for
collaborative learning processes, field application of CDA findings/learnings, or both. The position
includes both administrative and programmatic duties, and is designed to support professional
development. The Program Manager works closely with project leads, Directors and other CDA staff,
as determined by his/her supervisor, usually a Director or Associate Director. Specific assignments and
responsibilities will change over time, depending on the needs of projects, and on the job-holder’s
skills, availability and performance.
POSITION DUTIES:
The Program Manager performs a wide range of duties, including the following:

Support the development and implementation of field-based learning projects.
Contribute to management of external communications through a range of channels.
Perform literature reviews and other background research.
Contribute to engagements with clients/partners, corresponding to skills and experience.
Develop new training materials and update older materials.
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with a variety of organizations and individuals.
Represent CDA at conferences or other public events as requested.
Research and contribute to drafting of project papers, articles, or chapters, and edit documents.
Provide support to CDA staff and offices in field locations (currently DRC and Myanmar).

Carry out arrangements for project activities, including some or all of the following: project
planning/budgeting; plan and implement events (arranging venues/catering, participant
registration, travel/lodging, etc.); compile program updates; track/monitor project outputs and
outcomes and learning derived from program activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Professional proficiency in English
§ Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
§ Writing and editorial skills
§ Organizational skills with attention to detail
§ Competence with Microsoft Office software suite
§ Demonstrated interest in CDA’s practice areas
§ Ability to work independently, take initiative, and juggle multiple tasks with competing timelines
§ Open-minded and flexible, ability to work with a wide range of people
§ Ability to work in a small organization with an open-office layout
§ Documented permission to work in the United States
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working/living abroad and in countries in conflict and
proficiency in languages other than English, French preferred.
Com pensation will be based upon applicable skills and experience.
