“Celebrate the Gifts Festival” Friday Night Preview, Saturday & Sunday, October 2nd - 4th, 2015 Calvin Presbyterian Church Tigard, Oregon “Celebrate the Gifts,” is a juried, invitational fine arts exhibit and sale featuring original paintings, drawings, and prints, sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, wearable art, glass art, metal or wood art, garden art, and photography. Please check out our new website at www.celebratethegifts.org The show has been a part of Calvin’s Stewardship program since November, 2008. It creates an environment which recognizes the talents of artists in the church and community, and also raises funds to help local missions. It will be a three-day event, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, October 2nd - 4th Friday, October 2nd Meet the Artists Preview - 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. Saturday, October 3rd Exhibit and Sale - 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, October 4th Exhibit and Sale - 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Artists are invited to show/sell their work, with approval from our art committee. We will seek balance (not too many of a particular media), and quality, in order to create a positive display for our audience and artists. To participate, guest artists need to submit an application due by Friday, May 1st, 2015. The art committee will screen all applicants. Each year we will invite some new artists to make up a portion of the total participants. This will enable us to reach out to new talent in the community and offer variety and fresh interest to the show. Those not selected are invited to re-apply in future years. There will be a $30 non-refundable entry fee for artists wishing to sell their work. This is due when you are accepted into the festival. Funds will be used to cover costs of advertising for the show. A commission of 20% on sales will be donated to Calvin Presbyterian Church’s local mission fund, which supports our greater community through the Tigard Food Bank, Good Neighbor Center, Union Gospel Mission, Affordable Housing, Love Inc., Western Farm Workers, Habitat for Humanity, and Tigard Rehabilitation Center (home for homeless males seeking counseling and training).
