To: Artsplosure 2015 participating Visual Artists From: Sarah Wolfe, Artsplosure Art Market Coordinator Date: April 30, 2015 RE: Booth Assignments & Setup Instructions for Artsplosure, May 15-17, 2015 On behalf of Artsplosure, I would like to congratulate you again on your acceptance into Artsplosure 2015. We have tried our best to heed as many artist requests as possible, but not all requests could be granted due to the multifaceted logistics of this festival. This packet contains necessary details related to the festival. It’s very important that you read all of the enclosed information and follow these instructions in order to minimize confusion as you arrive at the event. Upon your arrival at the festival on Friday morning, May 15, please go directly to Artist Check-in located at the corner of Fayetteville & Lenoir Sts (as indicated on the map) to pick up your check-in packet with full festival details, and proceed to your assigned space. Note that you will be required to provide photo ID at check-in, matching the artist’s name as registered on your application. Please prepare to unload your materials as quickly and efficiently as possible! Once you unload, three nearby lots are designated for Artist parking. Parking lots will be assigned based upon your booth location. Parking is limited; please do not park trailers, box trucks or RVs in these spots. Please park oversized vehicles in the designated lot at the corner of Blount and Jones Streets. See the enclosed parking information sheet for more info and for details on RV and oversized vehicle parking. RV LOT IS ONLY AVAILABLE STARTING 7PM FRIDAY EVENING, MAY 16. It is very important that you hang your Artsplosure booth sign (available upon check-in) somewhere visible in the front of your booth; it contains your identifying information so our judges can consider you for cash awards. It is also very important that you visibly post your NC Sales Tax registration number (9-digit number) on your booth. This is an NC regulation. Please remember all logistical information as outlined in the Artsplosure 2015 Call for Entries, including the following: · Artists are responsible for providing all structures (tents, tables, displays, chairs, etc.). · Artsplosure cannot provide electricity or water for artists’ booths. · Absolutely no generators will be allowed for participating artists. Battery operated lighting is permitted. · Artists will be asked to keep all noise (including radios, played instruments, etc.) at an absolute minimum in consideration of other artists and patrons. · The show takes place on paved streets, which prohibits anchoring any supports into the ground. Bring appropriate weights with you to secure your displays against wind. Most areas are relatively level, but we cannot guarantee a space without slope. Be prepared with materials to level display legs if necessary. · Although police and security personnel will be present during the festival and overnight, Artsplosure is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged goods or property and encourages the removal of money and valuables from your booth overnight. · Vehicles are not allowed into the festival footprint after load-in on Friday or before load-out on Sunday evening. Please plan accordingly. Volunteers will be on hand to greet and guide you on Friday morning. I will also be on site to ensure that setup goes as smoothly as possible. Remember to be patient; there are over 200 vendors setting up in the same area. Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing you at the show!
