PRESIDENT’S
Berkeley Vale v Wyong
MESSAGE
at Berkeley Vale Oval
The Entrance v Woy Woy
To the supporters and staff of the clubs
at Edsacc Oval
I would like to take this opportunity to
Umina v Terrigal
congratulate everyone on their behaviour
at Col Gooley Field
at games during the start of the 2015
Toukley v Kincumber
season.
at Darren Kennedy Oval
Erina v Ourimbah
During this time there has been different
at Erina Oval
incidents where common sense and good
Central Wyong v Northern Lakes
club administration have quelled awkward
at Watanobbi Oval
events that may have occurred.
Keep up the good work and I hope
everyone continues to enjoy the Tooheys
Rugby League competition on the Central
Coast.
Goodluck to all teams this weekend.
Regards
Joe Smith

WYONG
Roos NEWS
Fill & Carry Fruit Market Under 19’s
Without doubt our toughest game of the year, Terrigal came out strong and aggressive but
to Wyong’s credit the forwards stood up to the challenge. Wyong’s willingness to win was
typified by the decision to go for a try to claim victory on the last play of the game instead of
converting a penalty for the draw. Future weeks will see this team improve through their
character. Wyong 18 – Terrigal 20 Players Player - Kaine Duroux No Coward – Ned Clancy
Central Coast Citrus Clean Open Age
Good team effort coupled with great defence which kept Terrigal scoreless. Set plays coming together nicely.
A special mention to Jeremy Tunks, scoring 5 tries
Wyong 84 – Terrigal 0
Players Player – Jeremy Tunks
No Coward – Sean Glachan
Wyong Rugby League Club Group Ladies League Tag
Girls tried hard and are still a work in progress. Great effort to get the draw.
Wyong 12 – Terrigal 12
Players Player - Maddie Smith No Coward – Chantelle Graham
Aubrey Brown and Partners Reserve Grade
A clinical performance two weeks in a row, well done boys.
Wyong 38 Terrigal 4
Players Player Michael (I’ve got the) Power
No Coward – Luke Menken
Evolution Security 1st Grade
Great win over quality opposition. Good to see Harry Butler with a new set of glasses today,
it stopped a lot of confusion with the jerseys.
Wyong 30 Terrigal 10 Players Player Manaia Osborne No Coward – Matt Ikuvalu

The Sharks Under Nineteens trailed 12 - 8 at the break against the Roos but two converted
second half tries had them running out winners 20 - 18. The Sharks played some ordinary rugby league
at times but dug deep to get the two points. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was Josh Starr
who apart from running strongly made some decisive tackles when required, the two points went to
Scott Drinkwater who managed to survive his eighteenth party to lead the side around the paddock and
crossed for a try, while the one point went to Jake Gouw who got through plenty of work in the centre.
The Coaches Award went to Jarrett Boland who played with plenty of enthusiasm.

CENTRAL COAST OZ TAG LADIES TAG- Rd 6: The girls had a great win over Woy Woy 30 – 0. It was our
best defensive effort of the year and we really didn’t let Woy Woy in the game, leading 6-0 at the break, the
girls played some great footy after lifting their competition rate in the second half. With Nerida and Rachel out
Amanda Morrison took over the captaincy and led by example, her defence outstanding. She was rewarded
with 3 points and players’ player in a close one, as there was plenty of girls putting their hand up. Jamie 4
tries, Sian 5 from 5 goals. Other points were shared 1 Sian, 1 Kirstie and 1 Bec. A great effort all round though.
PLATEAU TREES U/19’S- RD.6: Last week Plateau Tree Services U/19’s defeated Woy Woy 16-10 in what
was a welcomed result considering we haven’t played for a month. It showed as it took us 50 minutes to post
points as mistakes, timing and forward passes kept the opposition in far longer than they deserved to be.
Without both our starting props Ben and Rhys along with blockbusting back rower Logan, our stocks were
tested however top performances from Will Grassby and Tyren Andrea who came up from the 17’s really
made a difference for us on the day. Other strong efforts from our ON Constructions spine in Jake Hardman,
Bryce Davey, James Methven & Jarrod Hull while our RGH Consulting sponsored backs including Blake Wiley
& both flankers Mitchell Clark & Josh Richardson were strong all day.
Today’s home game we again see our stocks depleted however congratulate Jake Hardman who makes his
1st Grade debut today. We also welcome back Dane Richter and Rhys Sheriff who returns from a successful
modelling assignment and look forward to a dominant performance from our Kustom Xcavations pack.

The Sharks Open Age side were well beaten by the Roos and a few players are going to have
to learn to man-up against the stronger sides. Best for the Sharks was Cameron Smith who tried his
hardest to lift the side and got through plenty of defence, the two points went to Rhys Tyrell and the one
point went to Shannon Miller. The Players Player award was split between Matt Parson, Shannon Miller
and Cameron Smith while the Coaches Award went to Matt Parsons who is only going to improve after
a six year hiatus.
The Sharks Ladies League Tag side recorded their first competition points of the year when they
held on for a 12 draw with the Wyong side. The Sharks trailed 4- 0 early until Maddi Symington crashed
through the Wyong defence to score the Sharks first try of the year. Just before halftime Brittany Starr
took a magic intercept and raced 80 meters to have the Sharks up by 4 at the break. A second half try
to Rachel Dobbie had the Sharks up 12 - 4. Aided by some late recruits the Roos finished strongly and
two unconverted tries had the scoreline 12 a piece at fulltime. Best for the Sharks and co-winner of the
Players Player award was Maddi Symington who made plenty of meters wit the ball, the two points went
to playmaker Rhiannon Starr who controlled the Sharks and gave good service while the one point went
Rhiannon Hall who attacked strongly. The Coaches Award and co-winner of the Players Player award
was new recruit Helaina Wellington who played strongly, especially in the second half.
The Sharks Reserves were well beaten 38 - 4 by a strong Wyong side. The Sharks trailed 20 - 0
at the break but a Chad Goodhand try shortly after had them in the mix but the Roos proved too strong
in the finish. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was Kane Byrne who was strong in all facets of the
game and will be pushing for first grade shortly, the two points went to Ari Van Putten who ran strongly,
while the one point and Coaches Award went to Dillon Selby who got through a mountain of defence
and never gave up.
The Sharks first grade side suffered their first defeat of the season going down to Wyong
30 - 10 but more worrying was the three injuries that could harm the Sharks season. The Sharks were
competitive but the month in between games and with Wyong doing the little things better, the Sharks
finished on the wrong side of the ledger. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was Chad Sharp who
gave some great balls and ran and tackled strongly, the two points and Coaches Award went to Darcy
Gilchrist who had his best game with the Sharks and never stopped trying while the one point went to
Jason Thorne who continues to defy the age barrier.

Ladies League Tag
No other way to describe the top of the table clash between the Umina Bunnies and the Erina Eagles as nothing short of sensational. Both clubs should be very proud of the way these Ladies represented their respective
Clubs. Both teams displayed their vast array of skills and talent in a manner in which all ardent Rugby League
fans should take on board and accept that these Ladies can really play the game and entertain us all with their
product. The enthusiasm that our girls bring to the arena each Sunday is truly bewildering and much appreciated by all of us at the Bunnies. The game itself was brilliant to watch and could have gone either way in the latter stages only to see Erina topple the Bunnies in a very exciting game to watch. Congratulations to both teams.
Reserve Grade
Coach Jim Fawcett must be scratching and shaking his head in searching for answers in relation to his team’s
performance yesterday against an Erina outfit that scored way too many points against our Bunnies. Once
again the team’s lack of ability to soul search within themselves at times when nothing is going their way must
be a real concern to Jim. Courage is not a problem within the team it is just an attitude and execution problem.
Knuckle down guys, get to training each night and work just that little percentage harder and you will start to
reap the rewards. C’mon guys let’s Rally!!
First Grade
The same can be said for coach Flynn Donnelly not being able to understand why the team’s performance last
week being able to stay in the grind for the full eighty minutes against Erina but not the previous week. What
a difference a week makes so they say, and sure enough the boys left nothing in the tank on Sunday against a
much larger team (in more ways than one) i.e. pay packets, and got the job done willingly through their ability
to complete, compete and execute at crucial stages of the game. Erina got away to a commanding lead only
to be caught and then passed by the Bunnies outfit in a very entertaining match. Late withdrawals, positional
changes didn’t seem to worry the guys late in the game, they just put it all behind them and run out winners
on the day. Well done guys you all deserve the credit. Let’s Rally as a Club and give encouragement to all the
playing roster at the “Umina Bunnies”. Great rendition of ‘Rally round the Banner’ guys!

Magpies NEWS
The Metaland 1st grade took on Northern Lakes on Sunday fully aware of the
tough task ahead; especially on their home turf and they didn’t disappoint with a
hard tough game of footy. With a 10 metre more like 7 both sides went at it and it
become a dour struggle, both sides struggled to get any momentum around the ruck.
We went into halftime 12 - 6 up and were starting to slowly get on top, we knew if we got our
fair share of footy and field position in the 2nd half we were confident of going on with it. What we didn’t expect
was the amount of injuries we would get. We lost Moey in the 1st half then Sauce was hit late and didn’t return.
Big Chan with an arm injury then Taylor Mildren late in the game left us with no bench for the last 17 mins.
However, the boys dug deep and finished strongly winning the 2nd half 16 - nil in what was a great result. You
all should be proud of your efforts as it was a good team performance and one that has been coming for a few
weeks now. Our next test is v Toukley at home and I’m sure the boys are up to the challenge and will grab our
first win at home. Congratulations to Dave Settle making his first grade debut. 3pts went to Taylor Mildren who
despite his injury stayed out there for as long as he could to help get the team home. 2pts to Big Joe who set
up and finished our 1st try of the day and was great in defence on our edge. 1pt was shared between Johnny
Weber who was solid at 5/8 and gave us great direction and Corey Bayley who also had a injury but had a
big game and crossed for our last try of the game after a good inside ball off Damo. Coaches award was also
shared between Sam Stewart and Mitch Fry who both stood tall and worked their butts off in the absence of our
bookends Taylor and Sauce. Well done boys. Congrats to reserve grade and opens on their wins its always a
tough away game and to get 3 out of 4 wins is a good club effort. To the girls who just went down 12 - 10 in an
entertaining game of ladies tag going right down to the last couple of minutes. To get beat by a penalty goal is
tough but you all should be proud of your efforts. Finally like to welcome our new reserve grade coach Daryl
Harrison and congrats on your win mate. Cheers Marto.
The Davos Seafood open grade 24- northern lakes 10.
We started slowly in this game and needed to dust off a few cob webs with the lack of footy we have played this
year. Some big hits early from everyone helped in getting everyone involved. Poor choices and lack of discipline
in our attack just saw us just in front at half time 6-4. After a good chat at the break and getting everyone on the
same page we came out and played the footy we planned to in the first half and saw us with a win at the end.
Special mention to Nathan Hardman making a come back after a few seasons off. Great to have him back in
the club. Points 3 and players player Brent Radburn, 2- Grubby 1- Aaron Bennett. Good luck to the rest of the
grades this week. UP THE MAGPIES

took its toll in the closing stages. There were plenty of opportunities that went
begging and with better ball control the result may have been different. Wyatt was his usual strong self whilst
Mick, Shaan and Ovey had strong games with Tye, Barts and Murph being solid in the middle. Thanks to Cainan
and Barnesy for backing up – special mention to Barnesy who was making his comeback after a long lay off and
played 2 games on the day. Try – Shaan Goal Mr Jason Overton.TIMOTH.

Another loss fellas hope you are as sick of it as I am. We have a great team of individuals but we are not gelling as a team. Back to Basics for next week as we face the strong Entrance side. Lets all find our Mojo & start
playing as a team. In saying that our 2nd half effort showed signs of improvement, but with plenty of room to
improve even more. Lets start playing as a team. Thanks – Ken
Ladies - Warriorettes 12 – Ourimbah 10
A historic day for the mighty Warriorettes posting their first victory. Again we let Ourimbah get a lead before
our 2nd half fight back to level the scores at 10 –10. Britt opened our try scoring account with a spectacular
effort before Lauren scored in the 2nd half and with Alex converting the girls had victory in their sights. The girls
continued to pour on the pressure and were awarded a penalty from about 30 metres out. Alex bravely stepped
up and calmly landed the penalty leading to wild scenes of excitement both on and off the field as the girls and
crowd celebrated the Maiden victory. All the ladies played key roles with the McCauley’s leading the way, a new
addition in Maddy Wild adding plenty to the team and Annie playing strongly on her 21st birthday (which was
celebrated by the team after the game). The team is improving week to week and they all deserve a mention
but there are to many of them (refer to team program). It is a pleasure to watch and CONGRATULATIONS on
your win. GO the Warriorettes. TILOTH
Opens. Toukley 24 – Warriors 10
Our 2nd game of the year and it was a physical start to the game with solid defence from both teams. It was a
tight 1st half with Ourimbah leading 6-4 at 1/2 time. The Magpies gained the upper hand in the 2nd half and ran
out worthy winners. On the plus side we are improving each week and with some regular games we will soon
be joining the winners list. Welcome to Brock and also Johnno making his return after an extended absence,
both guys played strongly and the only way is up. Dez, Jarrod, DK and Zac all played well.
Tries – Zac and Shaneo (a solo chip chase 40 mtr outrun the cover defence effort – so he says - Goal MillsyHave a great day at the footy.

Tigers NEWS
First Grade - After a 4 week layoff The Central Coast Cleaning Contractors First Grade were finally
back on the field against Central Wyong. The game started well with Nathan Cooper racing 70
metres to score after good lead up work from Perry and Nelly. The Tigers were in again 2 minutes
later when Troy Adams crashed over to increase the lead. Central got back into the game with
some good field position to reduce the score to 8-4. The game turned into an arm wrestle with the
Tigers getting the upper hand and laying on a few more tries, poor goal kicking had us up 24-4
at half time. In a spiteful second half we managed to stick to our structure and score another 5 tries and with Ryan Jowett
demanding the goal kicking duties we were able to convert a few tries to come out winners 50-4. The Tigers were best
served by Grant Nelson who continued his outstanding form, Ryan Jowett who got through a mountain of work and Shaune
Corrigan who was solid in defence and electrifying in attack scoring a couple of tries and setting up numerous others.
Reserve Grade The Rapid Clean Reserve Grade Tigers were keen to get back on the field after a four week layoff
due to the weather. When we finally did, we hit the ground running scoring some very good tries and producing some
exciting play. Leading 34-0 at the halftime break, the Tigers didn’t let up and continued to pile on the points in the second half eventually running out 76-4 winners. We look forward to our battle with the Warriors this week. Up the Tigers!
Under 19’s After a long few weeks off The Pallisters Promotions Under 19’s finally got back on the park to play some
footy. We started the game okay but fell into a couple of lazy patches where we went to sleep at times and let the other
team back in. After a good chat at the break about where we needed to lift, our big men started going forward with some
hard runs up the middle which laid the platform for our backs. We scored some great tries but our defence did let us
down a bit at times which definitely will be sorted with our week off. The boys will be training really hard to make up for
the game off. 3 points and Players Player went to Webby; he was outstanding in the middle. At Hooker Jarred Brown
picked up the 2 points with some great runs and pushing up two 1 pointers this week was Piggy Hughes and Mark
Dafter was also strong. Looking forward to Woy Woy in 2 weeks.
Thanks for all the help from my staff as well, cheers. Jurdy

Bears NEWS
Round 2 - The side to travelled to Berkeley Vale last Sunday for the first game of the year
and with plenty of new players in the squad and limited training the last few weeks the guys were
keen for the match. The boys started well with newcomer Pete smith scoring with his first
touch to take us to a 6 nil lead. With a few classy touches by Rowen Doyle we went into the half time
break leading 18-6 . The boys fell away a little in the 2nd half but their defence at key stages was rock solid. The game
was iced when Cheesy ran 80m to score on the bell to give us a 24-14 win. Great win first up and with so many new
players we will only get better. 3pts went to Rowen Doyle who finished the day with a personal tally of 16pts. 2pts and
players player went to Pete Smith who led from the front all game. 1pt went to Matt Dewar who was busy out of dummy
half and tireless in defence. Coaches award went to Dave Thom who steered the side around well at half back and had
some good touches. Special mention to our captain Nick Spittles who suffered a compound fracture in his thumb and
left the field in the first few mins. We hope to see you back soon Spitts.
A big thank you to Junior Johnson and the Woy Woy staff who helped us with strapping and first aid on the weekend.
It is a pleasure to be associated with such a great Club in Woy Woy and hopefully it will be a successful year for both
of our clubs.
Round 3 - After a good win first up we hosted Toukley at home. The side was missing our Captain in Nick Spittles but
with such great depth in our squad this year we had the players to step up. We started well and went into the half time
break leading 10-4. The boys fell away a little in the 2nd half and with Toukley taking their chances the game ended in
a 14 all draw. Yet again out defence was spot on and couldn’t fault the guys commitment. 3pts went to Matt Dewar ,
2pts went to Tim Boyd while Craig Starr got the 1pt. Players Player was Nick Corda who was damaging every time he
touched the ball and Sam Corda finished up with the Coaches award after performing well at the back. Best of luck to
Jack Renouf and Rhys Doyle who are heading overseas to live. Both great clubman who will be sorely missed. Hopefully we bounce back with a win against Northern Lakes this week.

Hawks NEWS
Last Sunday the CANTON BEACH SPORTS CLUB Toukley Hawks hosted
Berkeley Vale in what was a great day for the blue and gold with wins in the top
TOUKLEY RLFC two grades against a strong club.
CENTRAL COAST 4 X 4 WRECKERS First Grade: Wow! What a performance. After last weeks effort the
boys were keen to make amends and put in one of the most pleasing performances we have witnessed
for a long time. After a tight first half we got our nose in front 12-6 at the break, before frustrating the
Panthers out of the game with our defence in the second. We went on to score some well constructed
UMINA
tries,
with BEACH
excellent support play, which was a good indication of our effort. You boys thoroughly deserved
R.L.F.C.
the 30-6 win over last years grand finalist, who have been the benchmark for the last five years! It goes to
show how long 7 days can be - the difference in energy, attitude and execution from the previous game
was massive and the scoreline proved it. With that said it counts for nothing this week as we come up
against the Magpies who also recorded a strong win last week and are always tough to beat at Sohier
Park. If we bring the same commitment each and every week, we will continue to set new benchmarks,
especially given this was the first time some of the boys had played together.
Congratulations to Daniel Peck and Matt Ghazawy who were both outstanding in their top grade debuts.
And finally good luck to Heathy, Fitzy, Trento and Jye in their rep game. You all thoroughly deserve this
opportunity boys.
CDM REINFORCEMENTS Reserve Grade: A very impressive win against the defending premiers. Like
first grade the game was a real arm wrestle before we opened up a commanding 22-4 lead. A couple of
late tries seen the score finish 22-14 but overall a great performance from a great team which keeps the
pressure on the top grade to keep performing. Good luck to Connor in his rep game for the Under 18’s
JUST CUTS Ladies League Tag: today was a tough day for the girls, playing against a near rep strength
Berkeley team, but the girls kept putting in right til the final siren. We know you girls will bounce back and
wish you good luck against the Magpies this week.
TOUKLEY CARPARK BUTCHERY Open age: Another game that was quite winnable but we let ourselves down with a bit of ill discipline at crucial times. Chin up boys, if we get those little things right the
wins will come. Good luck this week against the Magpies.
SPONSORS: We would also like to thank all of our generous sponsors including the following;
