PRESIDENT’S
The Entrance v Central Wyong
MESSAGE
at EDSACC Oval
Umina v Erina
At last we are getting to enjoy some Rugby
at Col Gooley Field
League, it has been sometime and I hope
Wyong v Terrigal
the coaches, supporters and spectators
at Morry Breen Oval
are all in understanding moods if
Kincumber v Woy Woy
completion rates are not up to the usual
at Mackillop Oval
standard. Just keep in mind if it is
Toukley v Berkeley Vale
frustrating for us just imagine how the
at Darren Kennedy Oval
players feel.
Northern Lakes v Ourimbah
at Gumbuyah Oval
Congratulations to all the players,
coaches and staff that have been selected
to represent the Central Coast Centurion
Representative Teams in the CRL
Championships to be contested over the
next six weeks. From under 14’s through
to the senior teams we wish them a
successful and enjoyable campaign.
Enjoy the footy everyone....
“it’s the greatest game of all”.

Our 2nd Grade side was shown a lesson in ball control and fitness by a very enthusiastic and well drilled

put in a much improved performance this week.

into the break up by 24 points-6.
Shortly after the halftime break Captain-Coach Troy Woodley dived over from dummy half which saw us lead
by 30points-6. From this point onwards we dropped off a bit with a number of mistakes and allowed Northern
Lakes to hit back with some tries of their own. Blake Wagner slotting into the Hooker position dived over for a
try of his own which took our lead out to 36-14. The last of our points came through Ryan Chant who did an
exceptional job to finish off in the corner, we once again allowed a couple of late tries to Northern Lakes and
we ended up running out winners by 40points-24.
1 point went to Ryan Chant who was solid in attack and defence and scored a great try, 2 points went to
Nathan Harvey who was great when he came onto the field and played the majority of the second half, 3 points
went to our young backrower Logan Palmer who got through a mountain of work when he came onto the field.
Players Player went to Jae Woodley who scored two first half tries and had a solid performance. After a week’s
break we look forward to today’s clash.
Rd 3. AusSteel Frames - Reserve Grade: This week was a bit of a form reversal from last week, with the side
only completing 5 of the 16 sets in the first half and of the 5, 3 had terrible last tackle results. That being said it
was a bit of a disrupted week with the halves combinations from previous week not being available for selection. 6 all half time and a fair result.
Congratulations to Jake Hardman on his 1st call up for the year to Reserves from the 19’s and while struggling
a bit In an unfamiliar role at 7, he shone when moved back to the hooker role.
A better performance in the second half, with the boys getting over the line 4 times for 2 tries. Still plenty of
mistakes and wrong options taken, but as was spoken about after the game, it’s always good to get the points
when you don’t play at your best. Result 16 – 6 win.
Award winners this week: Jesse Jackson 3 points, Elliott Rosario 2 points and Players Player and 1 point to
Luke Drummond.

OURIMBAH WYOMING
Magpies NEWS
The Metaland 1st Grade played our first home game of the year and we were all
set for a big game in front of our home crowd. But unfortunately due to lack of
respect for the footy and opposition we delivered a below par performance.
We completed 13 from 43 sets and showed no direction or composure with the footy.
In a positive I thought that we defended well to only go to the break at 4 all running into strong wind and a
poor completion rate. At half time we spoke about completing our sets and using the wind and we would
get home. However again we continued to hand the footy over to Umina and present the game to them
on a platter. We need to play more like a team than individually and we will keep working hard to achieve
this .
3 points and players player went to Chris Trembath who had a massive game and tried his hardest to
inspire his teammates with an 80 minute non stop performance. 2 points went to little Chan who had
a great game at fullback and was a constant threat to Umina’s defence. 1 Point was shared between
Moey and Taylor Mildren who both again played well in attack, defence and continued their good form
thus far. Coaches award this week went to a 1st Grade debutant and Ourimbah junior Blake Cooper
who got the call up and didn’t let anyone down at hooker. He defended well in the middle and scored a
try to boot. Well done Coop.
Congrats also to Forto and Reserve Grade on their first win of the year, in a great team performance.
Wins like that will keep putting pressure on the 1st Grade boys.
Good luck to all teams this weekend.
Cheers, Marto

1st Grade – Kincumber 40 Warriors 24.
We gave a strong Kincumber side too much head start before switching on and showing
some promising signs for the rest of the season.
Tom Druce scored a double and also picked up the Man of the Match Award. Barts, Tye and
Ovey also played strongly.

2nd Grade – Kincumber 16 – Warriors 6
We matched Kincumber for the 1st half and went to the break at 6 each, despite poor ball security for the 1st 35 mins. The amount of defence took its toll and as fatigued set in the Colts
got away with the game. Considering the defensive workload we placed on ourselves it was a
solid effort, with plenty to build on for the season. Looking forward to Woy Woy this weekend
and playing more footy and less defence. Players Player was Tyler, while Fletch, Agro and
Olly all had good games. Try scorer was Diesel with Hayden landing the conversion
Thanks – Ken

Hawks NEWS
Well after a frustrating few weeks we’re finally back on the paddock and so starts a
big month for the hawks. As well as today we’re also at home again next Sunday
17th May, before hosting rock covers band BIG WAY OUT as a major fundraiser
the following Friday 22nd May. Please support this event as tickets are only $10
and all ticket sales come to the hawks. You can grab your ticket from Kieran
on the gate, or from CBSC or Wyong leagues club.
We would like to say a special welcome to all of our old boys today as we host Northern Lakes for the
Northern Shield. We are expecting a tough game against our neighbours as always and hope your support
will get
us home.

Ground Manager must note the details of their report to the Team Manager on the reverse of the team sheet.
HUBS MEMBERSHIP
We simply must give a huge thank you to all of our HUBS (Hawks United Brothers and Sisters) members.
Our HUBS program was launched late last year and given early indications, we hope that it will be a real
game changer for our club.
This membership model has many different options from securing sponsors, to running raffles or simply
donating $10 per week and has already made a big difference to how we can operate our footy club.
We are hoping to steadily build our HUBS supporter base throughout the year and into the future so
please talk to one of our marketing team if you are interested in coming on board. A huge thank you to
those already committed to the HUBS concept – your support is very much valued and appreciated.
4. In the event that the inappropriate conduct continues, the Ground Manager and/or Team Manager may request the offender/s to immediately leave the ground. This should also be noted on the team sheet.
5. In the event the person/s refuses to obey the direction of the Ground Manager and/or Team Manager, the Ground Manager
may direct the referee to terminate the match. In the event that the match is so terminated, the club‚s and/or league‚s committee may, at its absolute discretion award the competition points to the non-offending team, or declare that neither side shall
be awarded competition points for that match.
6. Clubs which do not exercise control over their players, parents/carers of players, coaches, officials or spectators may be
called upon by the league to accept responsibility for their actions and the following penalties may apply (in addition to
penalties which may be imposed by the league’s judiciary):
■ FIRST OFFENCE
A fine not exceeding $500, and/or loss of competition points, and/or suspension of the player from playing, and/or
suspension of the offender/s from attending future matches.
■ SECOND OFFENCE
Suspension of the player, and/or team and/or club from the competition on a temporary basis.
■ THIRD OFFENCE
Suspension of the player and/or team and/or club either for the remainder of the season, or permanently.
