Course description
This is what students will see IF they read the course handbook
This course is for students who want to use English to learn about legal,
political, business and other issues.
本科目は、法律、政治、ビジネスなどについて、英語を使って学びたい学生を
対象とします。
This course will develop your confidence for communicating actively in
English. Over the year, you will improve your use of English to learn
about social, political, legal and global issues of interest to you. In cycles
of 4-6 weeks, you will develop your ability to do research to build your
knowledge of issues. You will also improve your ability to explain, give
presentations on, and discuss your research in pairs and small groups.
Your teacher may choose some of the research topics in this class, but
you will have chances to choose issues of your own interest.
この授業では、英語での積極的なコミュニケーションについて、自信をつけるこ
とを目的とする授業。興味を持った社会、政治、法律、およびグローバルな問
題について英語で学ぶ能力を磨く。4-6 週間の単位で、各問題について調べ
て知識を深める訓練をする。さらにペアや少人数のグループで、調べたことに
関して説明し、プレゼンテーションをして、ディスカッションする能力を培う。トピ
ックは教員が指定する場合があるが、学生自身が興味を持ったトピックを選ぶ
機会も与えられる。
(1) Attendance of 80% or more, (2) active participation in class activities,
and (3) weekly preparation of 1-2 hours outside class are required to
pass this course.
この授業の単位を得るためには(1) 80%以上出席し、(2) 授業に積極的に参
加し、(3) 毎週 1-2 時間の準備をすることが必要。
