Peace Shawl for All Reasons (Adapted by Carol Loughner, Henrietta Peace Pod, from a pattern in Knitting Along With Debbie Macomber Friendship Shawls, page 6) Skill level: Finished size: Yarn: Needles: Gauge: Easy Approximately 20 ½ “ wide x 72” long Any soft, hand-washable bulky weight (3.52 oz., 124 yards): 5 skeins 10 ½ or size needed for gauge. In pattern, 10 stitches = 3 ¾ “ (Cast on 10 sts. Row 1: K3, P3. Row 2: Purl across. Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 4”. Bind off all sts in purl. Measure to check gauge. Adjust needle size as needed.) SHAWL: Cast on 57 stitches. (For a wider shawl, cast on 63, 69, or 75 stitches.) The number of stitches is divisible by 3, the iconic element incorporated in each item created by w4wk4p.
