2015 Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner
April 14, 2015 Amway Center
6pm Reception/7pm Dinner
Q. What is the Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner?
A. The Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner is the annual fundraising event that helps make Scouting
happen in Central Florida. It brings together the business, civic and political leaders of our
community to share the story of Scouting’s impact on our youth. The Golden Eagle Dinner also
affords us the opportunity to honor great community leaders for their service. The 2015 honoree
is Jim Seneff, Executive Chairman of CNL Financial Group.
Q. Who’s going to be at the Golden Eagle Dinner?
A. Last year, more than 1,100 community leaders attended the Golden Eagle Dinner. The
campaign is led and organized by a team of volunteers. More than 100-community leaders
help identify and recruit corporate sponsors, campaign volunteers, dinner attendees and
donors. The Chairman for the 2015 event is Jeff Jennings, President of Jack Jennings & Sons.
Q. How much does it cost to attend the Golden Eagle Dinner?
A. There is no ticket cost to attend the Golden Eagle Dinner. All attendees will be asked to
consider a pledge during the event. The pledge form will request an amount based on their
history of giving with the Boy Scouts. If they have no history, they will be asked to consider a
pledge of $300 for 2015. Pledges can be paid at once, monthly or quarterly.
Q. What’s the goal?
A. The goal of the 2015 Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner is to raise $950,000 to help make
Scouting happen in Central Florida. The Central Florida Council serves seven counties
including Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia.
Q. What does the fundraising accomplish?
A. Scouting serves more than 23,000 families throughout Central Florida, including 7,000
registered volunteers. Since our last Golden Eagle Dinner across Central Florida, some 3,500
Boy Scouts attended our local summer camp program, 1,900 Cub Scouts attended our local
day camps and more than 400 young men earned the rank of Eagle Scout, contributing 40,000
hours of community service. Scouts also collected more than 450,000 pounds of food to help
feed the hungry.
Thank you! You’re making Scouting stronger in Central Florida!
