The CGEP Fellowship is a six to twelve month program enabling students and young professionals to obtain on-theground operational experience in a developing country with a social enterprise as part of a diverse, innovative group
that is paving the way for a new paradigm in impact investing.

In just over a year, CGEP has created six social enterprises, with many more across Latin America, India, and Africa in the
immediate pipeline. CGEP has created nearly 20,000 jobs, trained more than 16,000 people, and has generated more
than $13.5 million in income for these workers.
Changing lives at scale is a task requiring the collaboration of many acute, creative, and inspired minds from a variety
of backgrounds all over the globe. The CGEP staff, including the General Managers of Acceso social enterprises, is
currently comprised of 25+ individuals across 10 global offices from a variety of backgrounds including: investment
banking, private equity, venture capital, engineering, impact investing, management consulting, logistics, operations,
venture philanthropy, sales, and accounting. We believe the results we have achieved to date demonstrate the positive
impact of such a diverse, innovative group and now for the first time, we are providing motivated students and young
professionals looking to tackle first-hand the complexities of operating a social enterprise the opportunity to join our
team with our inaugural CGEP Fellowship class.
The CGEP Fellowship is a six to twelve month program (dependent on specific enterprise needs and Fellow’s schedule),
throughout which CGEP Fellows will have the unique opportunity to obtain on-the-ground, operational experience in
a developing country. Locations for placement include rural settings in or around Port au Prince or Mirebalais, Haiti;
Ratnagiri, India; San Salvador, El Salvador; Lima or Cusco, Peru; and Cartagena and/or Boyacá, Colombia. Based on
experience and interest level, CGEP Fellows will be placed in the following roles: Database Management, Finance/
Accounting, Social Impact, Operations, Procurement, Monitoring & Evaluation, and other support functions that will
report directly to the local General Manager of an Acceso social enterprise. Compensation will be a modest monthly

The selection process for the CGEP Fellowship is designed to identify candidates with: 1) an interest in serving
underdeveloped communities, 2) the maturity and flexibility to work and live effectively in one of our rural placement
locations, 3) the experience to make meaningful contributions to our social enterprises, 4) the leadership potential
to become leaders on development issues, and 5) the creativity to not only support our current enterprises but also
develop ideas on how to constantly improve them.
The selection criteria for a successful CGEP Fellow include the following attributes:

At least two years of professional experience preferably in, but not limited to: management consulting,
accounting, investment banking/finance, venture capital, database management, logistics, and operations
•
General knowledge of the development field and development issues in our focus areas
•
Ability and willingness to independently and creatively find ways to be helpful at their host organization
•
Experience living/working abroad preferred
•
Relevant foreign language skills (such as Spanish, French, Hindi, Quechua, Creole, and Marathi) are not
required in certain placements, but considered a highly valuable asset

SUPPLY CHAIN ENTERPRISE: CGEP bridges the gaps between regional & international markets and smallholder farmers
& producers. Our enterprises bring real economic value to supply chains through efficiently consolidating and rapidly
developing fragmented producer bases and linking them to quality buyers. Smallholder farmers benefit by gaining
access to capital, training, and tools for increased yields, high quality management, and access to larger markets.
DISTRIBUTION ENTERPRISE: Last-mile distribution is often a key challenge to companies throughout the world in
reaching low-income and rural populations. We close this market gap by empowering and enabling female entrepreneurs
in these communities to create a door-to-door distribution network in remote regions. This model gives the base of the
pyramid market access to low cost basic household products while creating jobs for women in the community.
TRAINING CENTER ENTERPRISE: There is a shortage of quality labor to meet the growing demands of many burgeoning
industries within developing countries. We prepare and help place youth in quality jobs by providing them with the
specific competencies and skill sets that target high-growth sectors of industries that offer quality entry-level positions.

The Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership takes the best of non-profit and for-profit organizations to
create social enterprises that provide new economic opportunities for underserved communities.
CGEP currently has six enterprises: four supply chain, one distribution, and one training center with two located in
Colombia, one in India, one in Haiti, one in El Salvador, and one in Peru. As part of the CGEP Fellowship Program,
candidates will be placed in one of the following existing enterprises and may also participate in the establishment of
those in the pipeline:
Creates a new value chain for cashew apples
with sales to PepsiCo and connects Indian
farmers to market buyers for cashew nuts.

buyers while providing training and quality
control to eliminate aflatoxin.
Provides household goods to rural families
utilizing local female entrepreneurs in rural
