Phoenix Children's Hospital Presents: Eat The Rainbow
The following programs are paid programs and Museum admission is not
included. Space is limited; please visit our website to reserve your spot!
Arizona’s Amazing Art! (Members Night Only) Have fun exploring
Arizona’s rich Native American heritage! Make a pinch pot out of red clay. Learn about
Navajo Indians as you create a sand painting. Shake and rattle your own handmade rain stick
while learning how they were used in ceremonies. Create a turquoise and silver bracelet to
wear home! Children ages 3 through 5 years old. Members Only; $10.
Did you know that your child should be eating a rainbow every day? Learn about the
importance of eating different colors of fruits and vegetables in this hands-on program.
Eating fruits and vegetables with a lot of colors helps you to stay well and grow healthy and
strong. There will be interactive games and activities to engage your child in the importance
of eating healthy and colorful.
Bath Minerals for Mom Celebrate Mother's Day by making some relaxing bath
Sand-parents Day Sand Jars It's the last day of SandFest and we are celebrating grandparents by providing a fun project for grandparents and grandchildren to work on
together! Fill a whimisical bottle with colorful layers of sand to create a unique momento
from your visit to the Children's Museum
Exploring Arizona Art! (Members Night Only) Have fun exploring
Seashell Exploration In honor of SandFest, join us as we explore seashells!
We'll make fossils in playdough, sift and search for shells in some sand, and so much more!

Jump stART Jump stART your visit to the Museum with a special early morning
session in the Art Studio. Includes an exclusive, fun-filled art project and castle painting plus
two professional art educators will facilitate the session providing specialized instruction and
guidance. Members $8/Non-Members $10.
King/Queen of the Castle Come to the Art Studio to be crowned as king or

stories, The Cat in the Hat, and then test your own balancing skills! We’ll have a variety of
objects to balance on your head, hands, and feet!

Brain Time This program emphasizes simple but critical messages about early brain
development . Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one-on-one parent/child playtime
with brain-based learning toys and books. This program is also designed to teach parents
about the importance of a child’s early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun,
informal learning setting in which play is emphasized. A parent/Caregiver is required to
attend with child.

a robe and hold a scepter while your photo is taken for display in the Museum. All ages

Brain Time for Babies (Ages birth-18 months) Join us this month as we develop
gross motor and visual tracking skills while interacting with balls! We will interact
with a variety of balls while learning all of the developmental benefits.
Lil Movers Have some fitness fun with your little one in this interactive class! This
Brain Time for Toddlers (Ages 18 months-3 years) We’re going to have a ball in
this session as we play with balls of all sizes, textures, and colors! Playing with balls
helps to develop gross motor skills, as well as eye-hand coordination.

how to walk like a bear and crab, balance on a beam like a bird on a wire, and more!

Mess Makers for Toddlers/Preschoolers It's Slime Time! Join us in this
session where we will play with slime, ooey gooey putty, and other messy goop! Please note:
You may wish to bring a change of clothes for your little one, since we do get involved in
hands-on messy play in this program! The best part is that we do the clean-up, so you don’t
have to! Children 12 to 24 months (Toddler Class) and 3 to 5 years (Preschoolers) with a
parent/caregiver are welcome. Members $8/Non-Members $10.
Ooey Gooey Putty Put on your inventors hat and have a blast creating a mysterious
substance known as Ooey Gooey Putty! Admission into the program is $1 per participant.
Science Before You Can Hypothesize...Or Even Analyze
Got curiosity? You're never too young to explore the world around you! Come discover
scientific concepts in this hands-on class to explore measuring, light, magnetism and more!
A professional scientist will lead the class through activities to spark a passion for scientific
discovery. Each family will receive an age-appropriate journal to document their own
scientific journey. There are two classes offered: birth-2yrs and 3-5yrs.
Members $6/Non-Members $8.
Shrinkable Pet Tags We'll provide the shrinkable paper, colored pencils,
markers, and patterns to inspire your design, you provide the creativity! After your design is
complete, we'll shrink your design to it's appropriate size for your pet to wear. Don't have a
pet? That's alright, these tags are perfect for stuffed animals too!

Drop-in Programs
The following programs are free, drop-in programs with PAID admission into
the Museum.
Animal Adaptations Come explore different animal adaptations to understand
how a polar bear keeps warm in icy waters and how birds eat with their beaks. You'll have a
better understanding and appreciation for animals of all types after participating in this
program!
Animal Life Cycles Learn about animal life cycles by reading the classic story of
The Very Hungry Caterpillar and exploring with some life cycle toys and games!
Center Stage Stars Come join Center Stage Stars as children between the ages of
8-15 years old sing, dance and perform to a medley of Broadway and Big Band hits.
Footprints in the Sand Whose footprint is that? Come explore animal footprints
in this program through interactive games, stories, and create your own tracks using
playdough and stamps!
How Big is It? In this program, we'll compare actual sizes of different animals to each
Brain Time for Preschoolers (Ages 3-5 years) Join us this month as your
preschooler will explore a variety of gross motor movement tasks through our
obstacle course!
Don’t Leave Home One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will
provide parents with an overview of brain development and brain anatomy, and introduce
parents to important developmental milestones. Parents will also learn how to read with
their children at different ages. This workshop is designed for children ages birth to five with
a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing. Each child will

when you pre-register for this program.
Kids Yoga Kids gain improved focus, balance, breath, strength & confidence through
yoga. They practice with music, stories, obstacle courses, partner poses and creative play.
Children ages 4-10. Kids Yoga is taught by Anna Blocher-Rubin.
Math Before You Can Add...Or Even Count! Think your child is too
young for math? Come experience the joy of math with your child through hands-on
projects, and learn more tools that you can implement at home. There are two classes
offered for ages birth-2 and 3-5yrs. Admission into the program is free with paid Museum
admission.
Toddler and Parent Yoga Introduce your young child to the countless benefits
of yoga in this specially designed class that uses games, music, stories and play to explore
postures, balance and breath. Children ages 18 months- 3 years. Toddler and Parent Yoga
is taught by Anna Blocher-Rubin.
Zooglobble Concert Series: Randy Kaplan Randy’s latest
not-JUST-for-kids CD, Jam on Rye, features the Sirius-XM radio hits “Don’t Fill Up On
Chips,” “Hockey Puck,” and “Crew Cut.” His previous record, Mr. Diddie Wah Diddie,
was released by Universal Music and myKaZoo Music and is comprised of Randy’s
adaptations of Country-Blues & Ragtime songs from the early 20th Century. Randy’s
recordings have won top honors from the National Parenting Publication Awards (NAPPA)
and appeared on numerous Top Ten lists. Randy has been commissioned to write songs
based on the classic picture books of Ezra Jack Keats and for a Disney Young Adult Novel.
He has also been honored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children
(NAEYC). His songs can be heard on SiriusXM Radio’s KIDS PLACE LIVE (ch. 78) and
have appeared in publications and on compilations such as LADYBUG MAGAZINE and

Music Together Presents: Spring “Triangles” Join Music Together’s
Spring “TRIANGLE” semester for 10 weeks of singing, dancing, drumming and instrument
play with your child while supporting them on their path towards basic music competence.
This session includes 26 new songs and chants: we’ll be skipping across the room with the
traditional “Skip to My Lou”, shaking our eggs and barking the blues to “Old Blue”, and
playing drums with “Maria Isabel” a lively Spanish folksong. Each enrolled family receives
TWO copies of the “Triangle” CD with a digital download option, a beautifully illustrated
song book, and “Music and Your Child” booklet/DVD (for new families) are included with
