This program is designed for children birth to five years old accompanied by a favorite adult. What is your child learning? Children who love books and stories, and have opportunities to engage in active storytelling, become more successful readers. Sunscreen Safety Join us as we learn through this hands-on activity about the importance of using sunscreen all year long. King/Queen of the Castle Come to the Art Studio to be crowned as king or queen of the castle for the day! Be the first to paint the castle, make a special crown, pose in a robe and hold a scepter while your photo is taken for display in the Museum. All ages welcome! 1 child per day for King/Queen: $15. Register at the Museum. TFFFN: Brain Time Visitors will learn about our Brain Time programs for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers while interacting with age-appropriate toys and materials. The program is designed to teach parents about the importance of a child's early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting where play is emphasized. Lil Movers Have some fitness fun with your little one in this interactive class! This Trophy for Dad Is your dad #1 or do you have the best grandpa in the world? Come month we will take on the roles of community helpers who help to keep us safe. Join us to crawl low like a firefighter, direct traffic like a police officer, and so much more! Brain Time This program emphasizes simple but critical messages about early brain development. Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one-on-one parent/child playtime with brain-based learning toys and books. This program is also designed to teach parents about the importance of a child’s early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting in which play is emphasized. This workshop is designed for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing, and dancing. Phoenix Public Library Presents: Kindergarten Bootcamp Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their child for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. Bootcamp consists of seven, 1-hour sessions for children who are preparing to enter kindergarten, or who have recently entered kindergarten. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work on foundational skills. This is a seven week class. Celebration Cupcakes! Toddler and Parent Yoga Introduce your young child to the countless benefits of yoga in Dairy Council of Arizona Presents: Milk Carton Madness Zooglobble Concert Series: Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band It's a fire truck! It's a cow! No, it's a fun and innovative project using milk cartons! In this session, participants will turn a milk carton into a new object using provided stickers. Kids Yoga Sample Sessions Discover how yoga can help your child with balance, confidence, and focus in this sampler session taught by Anna Blocher-Rubin! Officer Buckle and Gloria’s Safety Tips Come join us for a special storytime where we will read Officer Buckle and Gloria to learn about the importance of safety tips. You will even have the opportunity to write your own safety tip after hearing the story! Phoenix Children’s Hospital Presents: My Plate There are five major components that make up a proper meal plate: fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains and dairy. This lesson covers how to build a healthy plate and why it is important. Remember ½ fruits and vegetables, ¼ protein and ¼ grain each and every time! There will be interactive activities and an art project that will help kids remember what their plates should look like. Put the Flames Out Come help us draw chalk flames and use spray bottles to "put the flames out" in this program that also develops fine motor skills! Come learn more about what it takes to be a clown as a clown from Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus joins us to entertain you! Safety Signs Is your child a backseat driver and "reads" all of those street signs while this specially designed class that uses games, music, stories and play to explore postures, balance and breath. This summer we will be a-chuggin and a’chooing with our eggs to the traditional, “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”; we’ll be visiting an Argentinian farm to sing “Vengan A Ver”, and we’ll be going to Australia to meet some exotic animals with a fun asymmetric meter chant, “Down Under”. We have 21 favorite songs, chants, and dances to share with your children. Each 45 minute class is jam packed with developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children in a relaxed, yet fun, non-performance setting that includes the child’s most important grownups.
