CHOC Walk Tool Kit
Dear Walker:
www.chocwalk.org
25 Years of Walking For Kids
Thank you for helping to make miracles and magic for the children in our community by choosing to create a
CHOC Walk Team in the 25th Annual CHOC Walk in the Park! We are grateful to have friends like you that
choose to volunteer and recruit Walkers to participate in our most important event.
Why Every Step Counts
On October 11, 2015 thousands of CHOC Children's (CHOC)
supporters will walk through the Disneyland® Resort for the 25th
Annual CHOC Walk in the Park. Last year, over 16,500 participants
raised $2.2 million helping to support the care, services, education
and research that CHOC provides children. Now, every step means
more. As CHOC expands the services provided throughout the
community, your support will help more children - in addition to
making sure that every child who is in need will receive care
regardless of their family's ability to pay.
A One of a Kind Walk Experience
Upon arriving at the Disneyland® Resort, you’ll realize this is more than a visit to Disneyland®. It's a
celebration of the continuous support from our community. It's a time for families to thank the doctors and
nurses that cared for their children and share their stories with other families.
As you walk through the Disneyland® Park, Disney’s California Adventure™ Park and Downtown Disney®
District, you'll be joined by your favorite Disney friends - cheering you on and providing unique photo
opportunities. You will have the exclusive opportunity to experience Disneyland® as you never have before!
We are excited to return to Main Street U.S.A. to kick off this year’s CHOC Walk. At the end of the 5k Walk,
the celebration continues in the Downtown Disney® District where event sponsors, hospital support groups,
shops and restaurants have special offers for all Walk participants.
What’s New?
We are launching an updated Walk Website that will be easier to navigate through. You will still have the
convenience of using the same log in information from last year. This same login information will allow
CHOC supporters to register for other CHOC events.
Walker t-shirts and wristbands will be mailed again this year to your home. Shipping and handling charges
apply and required fundraising amount needs to be confirmed in your Participant Account by September 26,
2015.
Join our Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/chocwalk to be informed of the latest news, upcoming
events and special CHOC Walk promotions.

Teams
Teams play a very important part in the CHOC Walk. This is a great opportunity for you, along with your
friends and family to show their support. Round up everyone you know, think of a catchy team name and get
ready to join in the fun! Don't forget, this is your chance to dress in your school colors, display your business
name on your t-shirts or do whatever you think will make your team stand out in the crowd by showing your
commitment for the children we serve! Teams are eligible for special recognition for top fundraising
efforts. Have fun with your team and create excitement and enthusiasm! A great time is guaranteed!
Team Challenges
Your team has the opportunity to win recognition for their fundraising efforts by selecting a team category

you reach your goal!
6. Check-In
What is Check-In? Every year CHOC Walkers visit the temporary CHOC Walk office to turn in the
funds they have raised and pick up their CHOC Walk t-shirt and wristband. Your Walkers will need
to register online prior to you checking them in. You and your Walkers will need your CHOC Walk
wristbands in order to gain access to the Walk. As the team captain, you have the option of
instructing your team members to check-in on their own, or you may choose to check in for them.
* CHOC Walk wristbands are not needed to gain access to the Mickey and Friends parking
structure the morning of the Walk; however they will be needed to participate in the Walk at
the Park Entrance.
* It’s important that prior to checkin you ask your team members to
post any cash or checks that they
have collected to their Walker
account. This will save you a lot of
time at check-in. This can be done
by using the "Enter new gift" button
located on the Home page of the
CHOC Walk Participant Center.
Once your Walkers have posted all their cash and checks and have given it to you to turn in, please
select a day and time to visit the CHOC Walk office to check-in your team. Please organize each
Walkers funds in a separate envelope with their name on it.
