The CPCS Board of Trustees is soliciting nominations
to serve as board members for a three-year term.
Those retiring from the board were blessed with
giftedness in the areas of finance/accounting, education,
and fundraising management/promotion. As much as
we would like to find nominees to fill these specific
voids, anyone with the desire to help lead our school
into the future is encouraged to step forward. Please
pray about whether God is calling you to fill a need on
the board and therefore lead CPCS in following God’s

Family Fun Night was a huge success! We raised just over
$8,000 toward our Capital Campaign, and wow what fun!
A big THANK YOU to Joyce Buikema, the chairperson,
and to all of our volunteers who ran games, concessions,
made cakes, and cookies! Some special thanks to Klownin’
Around, and Midwest Training Center for donating their
time and talents to help us raise money. Thank you to
Backyard Bouncers for the discounted bounce houses.
Also thank you to Welch’s Stop and Shop and Walt’s Food
Center for the discounted food and pop! We are already
looking forward to next year!

The Facility Completion Committee would like to request any
subcontractors interested in the possibility of working on the Phase IV
expansion project to submit the name of the company, contact person with
phone number and e-mail address along with the type of work they are
interested in bidding on to the Facility Completion Committee at

[email protected]. Please provide this information no later than
March 12, 2013.
On Tuesday, March 12, the concert band will be participating in the Jr. High
Band Festival at Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, IL. Permission slips
went home with all concert band members. The band will leave CPCS at
11:50 AM and the concert will start at 7:00 PM. Dinner and a snack will be
provided. Band members must dress formally for this performance; black
slacks, white long sleeve shirt, and black shoes. As a reminder, it is the
responsibility of the parent(s) to pick up your child from Illiana
after the concert. There will be NO bus return trip.
Parents and Kindergarteners had a great time last week during
Kindergarten Kafe.

Get Ready for Cookies!! The Parents' Club cookie dough sale is around the corner! They are selling 10 varieties of tubs or
pre-portioned cookie dough. The kick off is March 13. Parents’ Club will be passing out samples of baked cookies in carpool pick up
on this day. Please look for the Classic Recipes catalog that will come home on March 13. An all school goal of selling a minimum of
$7,500 has been set. If we hit this goal, the participants will get to throw water balloons at Mr. Kamien and Mrs. Biancardi!!! There
are plenty of prizes for the kids to work toward...Ice Age Gear for grades PK-3 and the chance to go in the Mystery Prize Booth for
Grades 4-8. If they sell 5 items by March 20th, they get an additional prize. The top seller in each grade (minimum of 10 items sold)
will receive a gift card to Jak's Warehouse! We appreciate your participation in the sale as CPCS will receive 40% of every purchase!

Victoria VanderZee (3 day K) will have surgery on Tuesday, March 12, to insert a cochlear implant. Please pray for successful surgery and patience as
the implant will not be "turned on" until spring break.

EXPLORE Placement Test: All freshmen entering Illiana Christian High School need to arrange to take the EXPLORE test at
Illiana Christian High School. This is a placement/assessment test. The fee is $15. You may call the school office to reserve a spot,
or indicate on your registration form your choice for a testing date. The dates are March 9, 14, and 16.

Indiana Income Tax Reminder – Last year the State of Indiana passed IC 6-3-2-22, which allows Indiana taxpayers to claim a $1,000 income
tax deduction per dependent for private school or home school expenses paid in grades K-12. The expenses include tuition, fees, school
supplies and other education related items. A deduction is not allowed for a child who is enrolled in school for less than 180 days in a
calendar year. Please consult your tax professional for details on how this legislation may impact you.
