Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
To say that “Christ is risen,” also means to say that Christ
is alive! To say that Christ is alive, means that Christ is with us,
always.
At the beginning of Matthew’s Gospel, the Good News is
promised that Emmanuel, which means “God with us,” will be
born, who was named Jesus. At the end of Matthew’s Gospel,
Jesus the Risen Christ restates the promise to all of his disciples,
by saying, “I am with you always.” There is now nowhere we can
go where Christ Jesus is not also with us.
As Paul wrote, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor
life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any else in all creation, will
be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our
Lord” (Romans 8: 38-39).
Therefore…
When you are at the cabin or camping – Christ is with you!
When you are biking, golfing, or fishing – Christ is with you!
When you are at a game (playing or cheering) – Christ is with you!
When you are having a BBQ with your friends – Christ is with you!
When you are going on vacation – Christ is with you!
When you are at work, remembering vacation – Christ is with you!
Get the picture?
So, even if you will be missing worship at church this
summer, remember that Christ is with you, and that you can pray,
praise/worship, read, discuss, and share your faith in your risen
Savior and Lord wherever you go! Jesus Christ doesn’t just want
to have a relationship with you when you have time to stop by
church now and then. Christ died so that you can always be in
relationship with Him, and know his loving, forgiving, and lifechanging presence in your own life. So pay attention, and always
remember – Christ is with you wherever you go!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Kent Claussen Gubrud

Congratulations You’re
Getting Married!
Now what?
So, you are planning on getting
married, and you would like one
of the pastors to perform your
wedding service. Here are some
helpful and simple things you
should consider…
 Please contact the pastors before securing a
site for the wedding and reception, to see if
either pastor is available. If you reserve your
dates for the reception before contacting the
pastors, you are not guaranteed a pastor will be
available.
 All couples who desire to be married through
the congregation need to be involved in the life
of the congregation. Every couple is required to
participate in pre-marriage counseling and
preparation. We want to prepare you, not only
for your wedding, but for your married life
together.
 If you have any questions, please contact the
pastors directly for more information and to set
up a face to face visit.
FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE:
The “sharing of the peace” is a great opportunity
to extend a special greeting to unfamiliar faces!

The Missions Committee is
excited to announce that we
will be sending Pastor Kent
Clausen-Gubrud and Paula
Nierengarten to Tanzania
this summer to strengthen
the relationship we have with our sisters and
brothers of the Mlowa Parish in the Iringa, Diocese
of Tanzania. As they travel to Mlowa, "Bega Kwa
Bega" (meaning "shoulder to shoulder" in Swahili),
faith and relationships will be strengthened through
prayer, worship and service. They will travel from
August 18th to September 5th. We ask for your
prayers as Pastor Kent and Paula journey to visit
our brothers and sisters in Christ in Tanzania. If you
would like to have more information about the trip
or how to provide prayer or financial support please
contact Pastor Kent at the church office.
Other Mission Events:

Kits to mothers in developing countries.
Global Health Ministries has shipped almost
250,000 kits to partners in Tanzania, Nigeria,
Zimbabwe, Liberia and other countries where
infant and maternal mortality rates are still high.
Healthcare workers who distribute these kits also
use them to encourage women to seek prenatal
care at a clinic.
Between now and May 8th, collect the following
items for Newborn Kits:
 Bars of white Ivory soap
 Wash cloths
 2 or 2.5 gallon baggies
 Bath towels (not longer than 48”)
Collection and assembly will take place in May.
Details will be available soon.
To the CV Church Family,
Thank you so much for all your help and
