The Church Club of New York 150 East 55th Street, Third Floor New York, NY 10022 (212) 828-7418 [email protected] | churchclubny.org Young Adult of the Year 2015 Service Recognition Award ANNOUNCEMENT The Church Club of New York, founded in 1887, is a nonprofit organization of lay members of the international church community that works as an integrated auxiliary of the Episcopal Diocese of New York to create and sustain a community of fellowship and spirited inquiry, and to provide educational, service, and social opportunities for its members and friends to help enrich their spiritual lives. The Church Club’s Young Adult of the Year Award is an annual competitive award program, initiated in 2014, which provides recognition to an outstanding Young Adult or group of Young Adults (in their 20's or 30′s) for exceptional voluntary mission-related and/or community outreach service within their congregation. The Young Adult of the Year Award is accompanied by an honorarium in the amount of $1,000 ($500 for the Young Adult or group of Young Adults, and $500 for the Young Adult’s church or designated community outreach ministry), presented at the Church Club’s Annual Meeting, usually held in June. Applicants must be baptized Christians, over the age of 19 and under the age of 40. The Young Adult’s or the group of Young Adults’ designated ministry must be recognized within the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Application Guidelines: To apply, please complete the Application Form, and return it by email with the other required materials on the application checklist to [email protected] by April 15, 2015. Application Submission Checklist: - Cover Email - Completed Application Form (For a group of Young Adults, please complete a Form for each member) - Personal Statement (not longer than one page) describing the mission-related and/or community service being performed, and explaining your or the group’s involvement (including the number of voluntary service hours devote to the designated ministry) and why it is important to you or the group. - Current Resume - Letter of recommendation from the church’s Rector or other Clergy member - Letter of recommendation from the church’s Warden, other Vestry member, or active parishioner Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged by email. The Awardee will be announced by the third week of May 2015, following the evaluation of all submitted materials by a Review Committee, appointed by the Church Club’s Board of Trustees.
