Come & Be Uplifted
You’re invited to pray with the Prayer Team in
the Church every Tuesday from
7:30pm - 8:30pm.
Church of the Divine Child, Dearborn, Michigan
Things Above from Fr. Bilot
Here we are on the last weekend of
May, the month dedicated to our Blessed
Mother. I hope that during this month, you
had an opportunity to pray the Rosary,
reflect on the mystery of life, tied up in our
relationship with the Lord. The rosary,
though seemingly repetitious, engages the
mind, body and the spirit, and allows all of
our being to enter into prayer and into a
relationship with Mary and the Lord. If you
are not in the habit of praying the rosary daily, or at least a
couple of times a week, with summer upon us, why not take a
walk and pull a rosary out of your pocket and start praying! (If
you don’t know how to pray the rosary, you can go online for a
pictorial, or stop by the rectory and we will show you).
With the beginning of June comes the end of the academic
year. Within the next two weeks, all of our students will be out
of school. Summer is a time to relax, rejuvenate the body and
mind, and just spend free time with the Lord.
Summer
vacation should not be wasted on playing video games, hands
glued to the cell phone, or mesmerized by the computer
screen. If most of our time is spent on these activities, and no
attention is given to our friend, Jesus, then we are probably in
need of going to Confession and changing our habits.
Summer vacation is an excellent time for school kids to help
others. For instance, stop by a neighbor who does not receive
a lot of company and just spend time talking or, more
importantly, listening. Do some weeding, get your hands dirty
in the earth, or go for a walk or bike ride to enjoy the beauty of
God’s creation. Summer is also a great time to do some
spiritual reading, especially the Bible. Allow your mind to
absorb the mystery of God and his great love for us.
There is so much we can do this summer that is productive,
fun and, in the end, holy. The Lord is always available to us at
the church or chapel. Come in and say hello! I love when I see
our youth, on their own, come into church, light a candle, and
say a prayer. Or, in the middle of the day, they park their bikes
and go into the chapel to say hi to God. We so desperately
need to connect with the Lord, and here at Divine Child, with
the many places to pray indoors and outdoors, there is certainly
a place for you!
Page 3
God Bless you
Fr. Mario Amore!
O Jesus, Eternal Priest, look down with love
upon Thy priests.
Fill them with burning zeal for the conversion
of sinners.
Keep them within the shelter of Thy
Sacred Heart.
Keep unstained their anointed hands which daily
touch Thy Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips purpled with Thy
precious Blood.
Keep pure and unearthly their hearts sealed with
the sublime marks of Thy glorious Priesthood.
Let Thy holy love protect them from the world's
contagion.
Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may
the souls to whom they minister on earth be one
day their joy and consolation in heaven.
Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Jim Bilot
In honor of newly ordained,
Fr. Mario Amore, there will be

Fr. John Kopson’s
Commentary
We will finish the procession with Benediction
inside the Church around the 1-hour mark. In
case of rainy weather, we will have a Holy Hour
of Adoration inside the Church immediately after
the 1:00pm Mass.
Corpus Christi Procession Details
Thank you for worshipping the Lord Jesus with us!
Next Sunday, which is the
Solemnity of Corpus Christi (the
Most Holy Body and Blood of
Christ), we will have our Eucharistic
Procession through the neighborhood.
God Bless You,
Fr. John
Here are the details:
The procession will begin immediately after the
1:00pm Mass. All participants are encouraged to
attend this Mass, since the procession will
literally begin as the priest leaves the Altar with
the Monstrance. As the priest passes by your
pew, please file out and follow behind him.
Anyone who is participating but not attending
this Mass can join the procession from outside
the front doors of the Church.
Please wear light clothing that is appropriate for a
June walk.
The procession should last for about 40 minutes or
so.
Here is the route we will take (*subject to change):
We will exit the Church through the front doors
and make a left onto North Silvery Lane. We
will then make a left onto Lawrence and then a
left onto Gulley. We will make a left onto
Marion (which is just past Herbert Weier). We
will make a fairly quick left back onto the Divine
Child Campus. (We should make it back to the
campus in about a half-hour.) We will walk
through the parking lot back onto Herbert Weier.
We will then make a right onto Herbert Weier
and make a right onto North Silvery Lane.
Finally, we will walk back through the front
Church doors and back into the Church.
We will remain on the sidewalk throughout the
procession. (Please watch your step, and please
be mindful of our neighbors' lawns.)
If you would prefer to remain in the Church during
the procession, please feel free to spend the 40
minutes before the Lord in the Tabernacle.

Adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament
Look upon the hour of adoration assigned to you as an hour in
paradise. Go to your adoration as one would to heaven, to the
divine banquet. You will then long for that hour and hail it with
joy. Take delight in fostering a longing for it in your heart. Tell
yourself, "In four hours, in two hours, in one hour, our Lord
will give me an audience of grace and love. He has invited
me; he is waiting for me; he is longing for me." ~St. Peter

Right to Life – LIFESPAN
Memorial Day: A time to say “Thank You”
“All gave some; some gave all” We’ve all heard the phrase
meant to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by men and women in
the Armed Forces, but have you really considered the impact of their
sacrifice? These men and women died defending our freedoms. Some of
these freedoms include: the freedom for parents to CHOOSE to have more
than one child per family; the freedom to hold pro-life educational
opportunities, events and activities; the freedom to write ‘letters to the editor’
protesting attempts to legalize assisted suicide and many, many more. We
do not take these or other freedoms for granted and we thank the men and
women who died and their families for making sure we have them. At
LIFESPAN, we treasure these freedoms and work to be sure that everyone's
life is protected so that they can be enjoyed. For more information, call

A dead end street is
a good place to turn around.
Most dead ends in life are not clearly marked.
It usually takes time and careful discernment to figure
out that the road we're on is going nowhere... or has a
brick wall at the end of it... or provides no access to
where we think we're headed.
If you're careening down a dead end street, can you just
turn around? Perhaps it's a three step process of slowing
down, stopping, and then turning around.
CSA
Marriage and Family Life
Engaged couples across the Archdiocese of Detroit have been
preparing for summer nuptials through marriage preparation
programs.
Catholic marriage is a calling from God to a shared vocation of
life and love. Your gifts to the Catholic Services Appeal allow
the archdiocesan Office for Marriage and Family Life to
assemble marriage preparation programs designed to help
couples build a foundation for this sacred union. These
programs provide valuable opportunities, away from the
distractions of wedding preparations, for couples to prayerfully
discuss their future life together.
The office also offers support services and programs that enrich
and nurture people in every stage of the family life cycle,
beyond the newlywed stage.
For more information about CSA-funded ministries, programs,
and services, go to www.AOD.org.

BULLETIN BLOOPERS! These sentences
(with all the BLOOPERS) actually
appeared in church bulletins or were
announced in church services:
Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a
chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping
around the house. Bring your husbands.
Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our
community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say
'Hell' to someone who doesn't care much about you.
Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They
need all the help they can get.
Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October
24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their
school days.
A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the
church hall. Music will follow.
Celebration of the Feast of St. Anthony
Monday, June 15, 2015
Celebrate the Feast of St. Anthony at one of three
Antonio's Cucina Italiana restaurants: Canton, Dearborn
Heights, or Farmington Hills. Donate what you can for the
lunch buffet from 11 AM – 3 PM, or order off the regular
priced menu 11 AM – 10 PM. All the buffet proceeds
benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, as do a portion of the
proceeds during the rest of the day. Visit
www.CSKDetroit.org to learn more.
ST. SABINA PARISH RUMMAGE & CRAFT SALE!
FR. BUCON’S BIRTHDAY BAKE SALE!
At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be
'What Is Hell?' Come early and listen to our choir
practice.
Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the
addition of several new members and to the deterioration
of some older ones.
The church will host an evening of fine dining, super
entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and
medication to follow.
This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the
park across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come
prepared to sin.
THANK YOU DIVINE CHILD!
Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10
AM. All ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall
after the B. S. Is done.
The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the
Congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the
pancake breakfast next Sunday.
Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7
PM. Please use the back door.
The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's
Hamlet in the Church basement Friday at 7 PM . The
congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.
The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new
campaign slogan last Sunday: 'I Upped My Pledge - Up
Yours.
Dear Divine Child Friends,
Thank you for your continued support of the ROPE
program. It was a pleasure to visit with you and to
share. Your generosity makes it possible for the
program to grow and expand. Blessings on you and
your family.
