RIBBING STITCH Ribbing Stitch is great in a complete garment or as an accent for cuffs, collars, and borders. Start with yarn around the first needle being used on top board (board farthest away from you.) Bring yarn down to needle 3 on lower board (closest board to you.) Wrap around and go back up to needle 3 on top row. Continue weaving every other needle to end of stitches used. At the end of the row, you will wrap the last 2 needles consecutively. This is due to the weaving being at an angle. Wrap yarn around the end of the board straight up to top of last needle. Continue to wrap all needles not yet covered. This will take you to the needle 3, just as you started, and continue wrapping every other needle. At the end of the row, you will wrap the last 2 needles consecutively. This is due to the weaving being at an angle. Wrap yarn around the end of the board straight up to top of last needle. Turn the board around. Continue to wrap all needles not yet covered. This will take you to the needle 3, just as you started, and continue wrapping every other needle. You will notice you are weaving in the opposite angle from the first pass of the board. This is how the ribs are created. When you get to the end of the row, or back to the beginning, you will need to weave the last 2 needles consecutively to get them all covered. Now hook over all the needles by lifting the lower loop over the top of each needle.
