M-Step Testing:
On Wednesday, April 15, 2015 during the school day, all 11 th graders will take the online M-Step Test that replaces the MME
Test. The content assessment areas are ELA Part 1 and 2, Social Studies, Math and Science. The testing window is from April
15, 2015 through May 22, 2015.
Academic Intervention meeting for troubled Seniors:
On Friday, April 24, 2015, 2nd hour, those seniors who are in jeopardy of not graduating on time will be required to attend a
special intervention meeting. Letters will be sent home to parents.
Summer Dress Code:
With warmer weather approaching, parents make sure your students wear summer uniforms that meet the following
requirements: shorts must be knee length while standing or sitting, no dresses of any kind, skirts can’t be see through and
must be knee length, capris must have same uniform pant requirements and no sandals. Students feet must be completely
covered.
Extended Day School:
April 30, 2015 is the last day for Extended Day School.
Senior Tee Shirts:
Any senior who would like to purchase a Class of 2015 shirt may do so during lunch hours. The cost is $12.00.
UAW – Ford/DPS Summer Camp Registration Begins:
All DPS students are invited to attend a Summer Enrichment Camp from June 15, 2015 to July 17, 2015; Monday through
Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at CMA. On-site registration begins April 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Applications are available
in the Main Office. This program is a great opportunity for any student who does not have a summer activity. See Mrs.
Odom for more details.
DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital Volunteer Program:
Sinai-Grace is looking for high school students to volunteer for the following positions: patient escort, greeter, nursing unit
aide, or clerical assistant. To apply call (313) 966-4565 or visit www.sinaigrace.org/volunteer to apply.
ATTN: SENIORS:
Please be aware that all prom attire must be pre-approved. The prom attire form and guest form will be available in the Main
Office. All forms must be approved by May 15, 2015.
Prom Attire:
All seniors who plan to attend the Prom must follow formal wear guidelines: The schools district and Laurel Manor will
enforce the prom attire guidelines; young ladies cannot show excessive cleavage, all dresses must have a lining if fabric is sheer
and dresses with open back must not extend too far. All private areas must be fully covered. Young men must wear a dress
suit with necktie, bowtie or ascot. Only dress shoes will be allowed: no loafers, sandals or athletic shoes of any kind. All shoes
must have a hard bottom.
CMA Applications:
CMA is accepting applications for the Fall 2015-2016 school year. Applications can be picked up from the Main Office or
printed from CMA’s Website (cmahigh.com). The deadline to submit applications is May 1, 2015.
Report Cards:
Any students that did not receive their report card may pick it up at 2:35 – 2:55 in the Counseling Center.
VOLLEYBALL:
THE FINAL VOLLEYBALL PARENT MEETING FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE HELD THIS
FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2015 AT 6:00 P.M., IN THE CMA LIBRARY. Students and parents are reminded
that no student can participate in any CMA volleyball activities unless a parent or guardian attends a Volleyball
Parent Meeting.
