Preparations are underway for Conservatory of Dance’s annual dance production.
Teachers and staff members are hard at work preparing for a FABULOUS,
ORGANIZED and ENTERTAINING production.
DATES AND TIMES:
Our 3 performances are scheduled for:
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015 @ 5:00 pm
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015 @ 7:00 pm
Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 @ 7:00 pm

The Dress Rehearsal Schedule included indicates which Show your
dancer(s) will be in as well as their Rehearsal Time

DRESS REHEARSALS:
Dress Rehearsals for each show will take place on the day of the show at the theatre. If you
are performing in the Tuesday Show, your Dress Rehearsal will take place on Tuesday,
likewise on Wednesday. Performers are to be dressed in full costume for the dress rehearsal.
Please arrive in full costume, with make-up and hair done. We stick to a strict schedule so
PLEASE DON’T BE LATE. Chances are if you arrive late you will have missed your rehearsal
all together.
Parents need to stay with their children the entire time, unless your child is of age. You may
videotape and take pictures at the rehearsal. As a reminder, every family will receive a copy
of the DVD with your recital fee. (Video cameras are not allowed in the actual performances.
We ask that you adhere to this policy as to not disrupt someone else’s enjoyment of the
performance.)
Please arrive 30 minutes early to be ready to go! As soon as you are done with your dances
(at dress rehearsal) you may leave. Your dancer(s) must be back in the Theater no later than
30 minutes prior to show time as the show will begin promptly.

COSTUMES:
Costumes ordered in December will be handed out in class beginning Saturday, May
2nd through Thursday, May 7th. If you ordered your costume after December, they may
be handed out after this week. Most costumes will be given to you on a hangar and in
a hanging bag. Please take care of them and make sure that you do not lose any of
the pieces as we will not be able to get replacements before the show. Parents will be
called into the dance room to listen to any instructions on their dancer’s costume(s).
Parents are encouraged to attend this quick briefing to avoid any confusion on picture
day, dress rehearsal and the day of the show.
All tuition and fees must be paid before you will receive your costumes!
If you did not receive your costume in class – please pick them up, at the studio, by
Thursday, May 28th , 2015 from 1:00pm – 9:00 pm!
The following list covers more important information regarding Costumes:
All Hair, Tights, Shoes and Makeup are specified for each class in the Costume Book that is at the Front Desk.
Hair:
Hair should be in a BUN unless otherwise specified by your instructor.
Please NO BANGS where possible (to prevent shadows on the child’s face).
Tights & Shoes:
Each class has a specific color of tights/socks and shoes. Your instructor will specify.
No “shimmer” tights!
Make-up:
Lipstick, blush, and some eye make-up for everybody. Usually when the girls are at
age 8 we ask they wear stage makeup. Their faces will be washed out by all the lights.
General:
No jewelry, including earrings; no underwear under tights (they show on stage); no
gum.
Costumes should be worn in their entirety for picture day as well.
Makeup should be normal for pictures and hair is how you would like it.

CLASS AND INDIVIDUAL PICTURES:
Brad Olson Photography will be taking photos at the studio on the days listed below.
Detailed info about the schedule is included in this packet. Please make every effort to have
your child present on Picture Day as everyone else in the class will be looking to be there as
well! Everybody wants to see their picture on the studio walls afterwards! Picture Order
Forms will be available for download from our website. You may fill them out and bring them
with you to Picture Day, or fill them out at the studio.
Picture day is – Saturday, May 17th, 2015 – from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm
& Sunday, May 18th, 2015 – from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm
THE PICTURE SCHEDULE IS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET. PLEASE REFER TO
THAT SCHEDULE FOR THE TIMES OF YOUR DANCER’S CLASS PICTURE.
Individual pictures and pictures with your friends will be taken immediately following
your class pictures. Additional order forms will be available at the studio. Please note
that the pictures will be available for pick-up at the studio approximately 3 weeks
after the shoot.
DVDS:
Gotham Arts HD will be videotaping the showcase once again this year. Each family at
Conservatory of Dance will receive 1 DVD as part of their recital fee. YOU MUST HAND IN
THE ATTACHED VIDEO REQUEST FORM IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOUR DVD. If you
would like extra copies or additional shows – you may purchase these separately by filling out
the bottom portion of your video request form. You may also fill out and return this form and
turn it in at the check in table at the recital. The DVDs will be available for pick-up at the
studio approximately 6-8 weeks after the performance.
PURCHASES ON THE EVENINGS OF THE SHOWS:
The following items will be on sale throughout Dress Rehearsals and all three shows:
! Any remaining tickets for the Performance. (via box office)
! Flowers for your performer(s).
! Concessions will be sold throughout the day.
! Order forms for extra DVD’s of the Show will also be available.
! Vendors will be on hand with a variety of items.

TICKET PURCHASING POLICY:
Tickets will go on sale on MONDAY, MAY 4th, 2015 beginning at 1pm. All tickets for
“COFD Superheroes” will be sold online through our website. All seating will be
reserved seating – assigned seats - NOT General Admission. A Seat Map of the
theater is included in this packet and will be available at the front desk of the studio as
well.
The tickets will be priced as follows:
! $18.00 for Adults
! $14.00 for Children 5 thru 12
! Ages 4 and under may sit on your lap at no charge
! Matinee show (5pm) is $12 flat rate
Handicap seats are available upon request.
BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS:
If you are interested in helping out backstage, please read the information on the
Backstage Volunteer Form and drop it off at the Front Desk. Thanks for all of your
help, we couldn’t put on such a well run show without those helping backstage!
RECITAL PROGRAMS AND BUSINESS ADVERTISING:
Please help businesses you know reach our audience of over 2000 people. In this
packet you will find advertising submission forms for our 2015 Performance Program.
You may also take out personal ads to congratulate and cheer on your dancers!
These ads are very important to us and to the studio as well as a great opportunity for
both families and businesses to express their support for their dancers. Please fill out
the attached forms to submit ads for the program.
Ad rates and information are included at the end of this recital packet. You may also
ask at the desk for more information or for Ad Submission Forms.

Dancers should arrive at Chaparral High School at least 30 minutes before the start of the
show. The performances are in the auditorium.
Parking – The parking lot closest to the auditorium is off East Gold Dust Ave.
Parents drop dancers off at the stage door on the east side of the building. (left side of building
when facing the main entrance) There will be signs to direct you to the drop off area.
All of the dancers will be taken care of backstage for the entire length of the show by “Backstage
Mom” volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to be a “Backstage Mom”, please fill out the form
included in this packet or stop by the front desk. Water will be provided backstage
ONLY BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS will be allowed backstage.
The 5pm show participants will be released from stage following the performance.

BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS
Conservatory of Dance relies on the assistance of many dedicated volunteers to provide
a high-quality performance experience for your children. Your child is a direct
beneficiary of this volunteer effort, so we hope that you will become an enthusiastic
member of our volunteer pool.
• Class Moms are needed to supervise the dancers while backstage.
• You will only need to be responsible for the kids during the evening of the Recital
– Not at Dress Rehearsal.
• ONLY designated volunteers will be permitted backstage. The backstage area is
limited in space so we ask everyone to adhere to this policy.
• CLASS MOMS will not need a ticket for the show that they work. We will do our
best to bring you to the stage to watch any dance your child may be in.
We will all meet 45 min before each Recital Show at the theater stage door to inform
everyone of their responsibilities.
