Prayer of the Day:
Almighty God,
your blessed Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ,
ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things:
mercifully give us faith to trust that, as he promised,
he abides with us on earth until the end of time;
through the same Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
ICHTHUS 2015: Can You help?
The Junior High Ichthus camp is needing leaders
and adult helpers. Camp begins on the 21st September
Do you know someone who may be a suitable leader?
Please speak to Anne if you can assist in any way.
Please pray for these camps to be able to run successfully again this year
and that through them many lives will be transformed and blessed.

Training materials, morning tea and LUNCH provided. Just bring a pen and
ID documents as discussed on registering.
Completing this course prepares you to volunteer, under the Anglicare
umbrella, should our assistance be required in a disaster recovery or
evacuation centre and re-accredits current volunteers for another 3 years.
Fires, earthquakes and particularly in our area, floods, can happen anytime.
Whilst we all hope mass evacuations will never be needed, it pays to be
prepared to be of REAL help in such times of crisis.
Help supplement Anglicare Disaster Recovery presence in your community.
Please note that registration as a volunteer under the NSW Emergency
Management Plan also requires a successful, cost free Police Check and
Working With Children Check (WWCC).

crowd numbered about one hundred and twenty people) and said,

‘Friends,* the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit
through David foretold concerning Judas, who became a guide for
those who arrested Jesus— 17for he was numbered among us and
was allotted his share in this ministry.’

So one of the men who have accompanied us throughout the time
that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22beginning from the
baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us—one
of these must become a witness with us to his resurrection.’ 23So
they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also known
as Justus, and Matthias. 24Then they prayed and said, ‘Lord, you
know everyone’s heart. Show us which one of these two you have
chosen 25to take the place* in this ministry and apostleship from
which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.’ 26And they cast
lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was added to the
eleven apostles

If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for
this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. 10Those
who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts.
Those who do not believe in God* have made him a liar by not
believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is
in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have
the Son of God does not have life.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of
God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ

‘I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from
the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they
have kept your word. 7Now they know that everything you have
given me is from you; 8for the words that you gave to me I have
given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I
came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9I am
asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world, but
on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours.

All mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I have been glorified
in them. 11And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the
world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your
name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are
one. 12While I was with them, I protected them in your name that*
you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost
except the one destined to be lost,* so that the scripture might be
fulfilled. 13But now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in
the world so that they may have my joy made complete in
themselves.* 14I have given them your word, and the world has
hated them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do
not belong to the world. 15I am not asking you to take them out of
the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.* 16They
do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18As you have sent
me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19And for
their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they also may be sanctified in
truth.

Coming Events & Notices
SAFE MINISTRY TRAINING IN COFFS HARBOUR: – This training
is mandatory for holders of a license issued by the Bishop (this includes
clergy and LLMs) All members of Parish Council; All leaders and
designated helpers in Family, SRE, Youth or Children’s ministry or similar;
All leaders or coordinators of parish ministries; Church office workers and
volunteers where public contact is involved; All leaders and designated
helpers with street ministry, hospital visiting, aged home visiting, soup
kitchens, Op Shops, and other people contact ministries.
A full day course will be held at St John’s on Thursday 4 June from 9am –
4pm. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. A refresher for
those who did the course two years ago will be held on Friday 5 June from
9am – 12 noon. Morning tea will be provided. Application forms are
available at the back of the church or from the parish office. Registration
applications made through the parish will be paid for by the parish,
otherwise a $30 fee will be charged. Courses will also be held at Kempsey
on 1 & 2 June, Alstonville 29 & 30 June and Murwillumbah 2 & 3 July and
other churches have similar training available.
FAITHFULNESS IN SERVICE: is a code of conduct for church workers
that has been adopted across the Anglican Church of Australia. It covers
the topics of Pastoral Relationships, Children, Personal Behaviour, Sexual
Conduct and Financial Integrity. Copies of the document are available on
the diocese’s website at http://www.graftondiocese.org.au/#!faithfulness-inservice-/c9ot
PRE-SYNOD MEETING: Will be held at St Augustine’s, Woolgoolga at
6.30pm on Monday 25 May. Two hours has been set aside for the meeting
which will give an overview of business on the agenda for 2015 Synod.
The meeting is open to all Anglicans, whether or not they are Synod
representatives. For representatives it gives a chance to think about the key
issues in advance of the Synod.
PENTECOST NEXT WEEK: Don’t forget that next week is Pentecost,
the Church’s birthday, on which day we celebrate the coming of the Holy
Spirit. Everyone is invited to wear something red and join in the
celebrations. After the 9am service there will be a picnic at the Jetty
foreshore. BYO picnic or fish & chips, and a chair.
NEPAL: we received $1876 towards the Nepal earthquake appeal.
Thank you to all who gave so generously to this desperate need.
NAME BADGES: If you would like a new name badge we are putting
together a new order. The cost is $6.00 for a plain badge and & $7.50 with
a magnetic attachment. Please put your name on the signup sheet on the
notice board. We will send the order off once the number reaches 10 or
more.
ANGLICARE DISASTER RECOVERY TRAINING: Application
forms are now available. Registration before 21st May is required please.
WORDS & MUSIC SONG RECITAL: At the Regional Art Gallery on
Tuesday 19 May at 7pm. Phillip Ranieri baritone, Mei Wei Lim pianist and
Norma Anderson. Tickets available at the door - $10.
CURSILLO: Dates for the Cursillo weekends 2015 are:
Men’s weekend– 13-16th August
Women’s weekend 27-30th August
Speak to Terry Tweedie, Allan Crossingham, Ian or Anne if you are
interested in going. Cursillo is a very enjoyable time of fellowship, worship,
prayer, group discussions and much more. It is an experience not to be
missed.
SENIOR ICHTHUS: Years 10 – 12 High School students: Ichthus 2015.
Camp will run 28 June - 4 July. Forms now available.
CCCC’s RAFFLE: for Relay for Life. Tickets are only $1 dollar each
available at the back of the church. Prize is an iPad Mini 2-32G with Wi-Fi.
