MARTYRS
WELCOME
Thank you for joining with us today.

If you intend to worship regularly with us,
please fill in an information card on the back table,
and hand it to the staff or sides person.
Today’s Worship
Sentence:
In this is love, not that we loved God but that God loved us. Beloved,
since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another.
1 John 4.10–11
Prayer of the Day:
O God, form the minds of your faithful people,
that we may love what you command
and desire what you promise,
so that, amid the many changes of this world,
our hearts may there be fixed where true joys are to be found;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Isaiah 30. 18-21
18
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him.
19
Truly, O people in Zion, inhabitants of Jerusalem, you shall weep no
more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when
he hears it, he will answer you.
20
Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water
of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your
eyes shall see your Teacher.
21
And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears
shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’
Psalm 19.1-6
APBA page 239
1 Corinthians 15. 1-8
1
Now I should remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news
that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you
stand, 2 through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to
the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to
believe in vain. 3 For I handed on to you as of first importance what I
in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with
the scriptures, 4 and that he was buried, and that he was raised on
the third day in accordance with the scriptures, 5 and that he
appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more
than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are
still alive, though some have died. 7 Then he appeared to James, then
to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to someone untimely born, he
appeared also to me.
4
The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John, Chapter 14,
beginning to read at verse 6:
Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ
6
Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you know me, you will
know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen
him.’ 8 Philip said to him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and we will be
satisfied.’ 9 Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you all this time,
Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen
the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father”? 10 Do you not
believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words
that I say to you I do not speak on my own; but the Father who
dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father
and the Father is in me; but if you do not, then believe me because of
the works themselves. 12 Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes
in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater
works than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 I will do
whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in
the Son. 14 If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it.
This is the Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE EMERGENCY APPEAL:
On Saturday 25th April, Nepal suffered one of the worst earthquakes to hit
a populated area in living memory. The Nepal earthquake has led to
thousands confirmed dead, the destruction of countless homes and
buildings and has left many people sleeping on the streets in freezing
temperatures.
ABM has launched an emergency appeal to help those affected by the
earthquake. You can put your donation in the offering plate marked Napal
or in the basket provided for this appeal at the back of the Church.
Please help ABM support the people of Nepal by donating and spreading
the word. To keep up-to date with emergency news or to donate to ABM’s
Nepal Earthquake Emergency Appeal please call on 1300 302 663, email
[email protected] or visit www.abmission.org/nepal-emergency
9AM SERVICE POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS: for the past two
weeks we have been unable to have power points at our 9am service to
support our music team.
There are three separate tasks that need to be achieved each week.
Firstly, a presentation needs to be created. This can be done any time
during the week, after the music team has met for practice on Monday
afternoon and advised of any changes. In addition to preparing the
presentation that is seen on the screens, two versions of the printed lyrics
need to be created. One is a large print version for members of our
congregation that have vision impairment. The other is for our sanctuary
team who cannot see the screens.
Secondly, the presentation needs to be loaded onto the church computer
system, and on Sunday morning the computer system, projectors and
screens need to be activated and checked to ensure they are
synchronised and working. They also need to be shut down at the end of
the service.
Thirdly, the presentation needs to be operated throughout the service.
This can be done by sitting at the computer, or sitting in the congregation
and operating the remote control.
Our thanks to those people who have been assisting with operating the
presentations during the services. We also give thanks for the recent offer
of assistance with the preparation of the presentations. Our biggest need
now is for assistance from parishioners at our 9am service to set up and
shut down the computer, projectors and screens.
