What are the benefits? Earning the GED® opens doors not previously available to you. With a GED® you can go to college, begin a career training program, or be eligible for a career that requires a high school diploma. Collier County Public Schools GED® offers a career pathway program that will guide you toward the future you’ve dreamed of. How do I prepare? Collier County Public Schools offers GED® Prep classes at a number of sites throughout the county. Areas of concentration include: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, which are all addressed on the GED® test. Students are individually assessed before beginning the program. This assessment is not a pass/fail test. It allows us to identify what a student needs to learn to be successful on the GED®. It helps us to know when they are GED® Ready. Do I need to prepare? Students who prepare with Collier County Public Schools and other Florida school systems have a much higher rate of passing than those who do not. With the guidance of Adult Education teachers and the use of their assessment tools, when told they are GED® Ready, students of our prep program have a passing rate of more than 80%. In April 2014, over 600 individuals joined the GED® graduate alumni class of Collier County. You can get your GED® too! For more information call 239-377-1300.
