Sumichrast is Dean of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. He received an undergraduate degree in Physics at Purdue and a PhD in Management Science at Clemson. That means Spring Cleaning, and a great opportunity to pick out items for donation for our August Yard Sale! It’s never too early to start getting things together, so if you find good items be sure to hold on to them. This year we will have some storage space available ahead of time so if you have something that must go soon let the Yard Sale Committee know! FROM CHRISTY BROWN: RELAY FOR LIFE @VT: Volunteer needed for BHS Interact Club. Seeking a good fundraiser with lots of creativity, enthusiasm, spirit and energy! The VT Relay is scheduled for April 24th on the drill field beginning at 5:00 pm. On June 13th from 11-5:00 p.m. we will be assisting with drink sales and gate tickets at the Mountains of Music Celebration from the Crooked Road at the Montgomery Museum in Christiansburg. We also have two upcoming projects this spring: A workday at at Valley Interfaith Child Care Center in Blacksburg and another at the Children's Museum at First & Main. More information to come. Park at the office build on Plantation Dive off of Prices Fork Road. Lottery tickets will be given to the person who picks up the most unusual item. Participants will be given a make-up. “We are this Close” District-Wide Event for all Rotarians on May 19, 2015 On May 19, 2015 I will convene a district-wide event to celebrate the successful completion of our District effort and emphasis on End Polio Now! RI President-elect John Germ will be the key-note speaker for this exceptional occasion. My hopes are each of our 81 clubs and district leadership will be represented and there is no limit how many Rotarians may attend. This event will be held centrally in our District at the Salem Civic Center and the Salem club will act as Host for this event. We will celebrate the successful completion of our $250,000.00 goal for “We Are This Close”. Please let me know if you will be able to attend this very exciting event.
