Mrs. Gibson and her late husband always shared a “thirst for knowledge” that they
steadfastly committed to instilling in their children, grandchildren, extended family,
and friends as well as the numerous individuals in their church and community.
She prays that her legacy as an educator will inspire future generations to embrace
their passion for education, striving for excellence in everything they do.
One of her greatest accomplishments is her Christian stewardship and service to the
Lord: bible study, Sunday School teacher, Deacons and Deaconess Board,
community board, Sisters United, Prayer Chain, Pioneers, nursery, community
center, Stewardship Committee, food bank, Amanda Ann Nursing Home, and
Colonial Oaks Assisted Living: Volunteer- Activity Department.

Employee Spotlight
Hi! My name is Sharon Perry. I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but I was
raised and live in Houston. I am also a “New Year baby.” After I graduated from
high school, I attended Prairie View A&M University for two years in the nursing
program. I got married a few years after, and my husband and I have one
daughter, Shardonia. She is married and has four kids. I am also blessed to still
have both of my parents. My mother is 83, and my father is 95 years old. My
brother and I care for both of them. I have been working in health care for a long
time. I worked for twenty years in a skilled nursing facility. I have been working
for six years at Colonial Oaks. I started in the Boat House neighborhood and later
transferred to Country Lane where I have been for the last few years. I love all
the residents and all the Colonial Oaks staff.
