Andrew Brown – Health Systems Strengthening Consultant
Andrew started his career as a clinical pharmacist with an interest in education. In 1992-1993 he spent time developing education approaches for
health supply chains within the Solomon Islands, followed by further clinical activities with ACT Health in Canberra, Australia. Moving to the private sector, Andrew spent ten years engaged in pharmacy business development with a focus on human resources improvement for the Australian Pharmacy Group. In 2007 he took a position as Assistant Professor
at the University of Canberra with a research interest in the development
of health supply chain competency among cadres responsible for this
work in Pacific Island Countries, concluding his PhD in this field in 2012.
Andrew has had the role of Executive Manager for The People that Deliver Initiative from June 2013 to June 2015, working globally to engage
international organisations and country governments to strengthen their
systematic approach to cadres involved in health supply chains in the
development context. As an independent Health Systems Strengthening
consultant, Andrew is now using this experience to promote systematic
health supply chain improvements in a variety of contexts.
