Shayla Rae McFarlane (Martha from Sound of Music) and Holly Bell, learners from Crawford Preparatory Lonehill, are 2 of the children who have been selected from the children's casting, for the show. Shayla and Holly will be playing the parts of a monkey and the young girl Ashanti. The girls attended the first casting and then got a call back for the 2nd round of casting calls. The requirements for the parts are singing, acting and movement. They have had to do three weeks of rehearsals, which took place straight after school until 5pm and Saturdays. Once they start performing there will be 2 shows a day and they will have to perform between 2 and 4 days a week for 7 weeks. They are loving the experience even though they have to balance their school work with performing. Crawford Lonehill is exceptionally proud of their achievements!
