We’ll help make your event a success!
Cromford Mills is a Grade I listed complex of cotton mill buildings which form a key location in the UNESCO
inscribed Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. It was here that Sir Richard Arkwright changed the world
with the development of the Factory System. Today the site is owned and managed by the Arkwright Society,
a charitable building preservation trust, and is home to a bustling community of businesses.
The Cromford Mill Conference Centre team specialise in creating conferences and meetings with a real
difference. Not only will you receive great hospitality and catering, but your visit will be enhanced by other
on-site facilities including a variety of shops selling a range of luxury gifts, food, plants, antiques, greeting
cards, specialist books and stationery, an award winning wholefood restaurant, a canal side café and a
stunning art gallery.
Our conference team will make your event memorable
We can also arrange for your delegates to tour the site and visit areas of historical interest not normally
accessible by the public. The conference team are happy to help with accommodation and transport
arrangements, organising reception and event launches, and arranging guest speakers to present fascinating
talks on a range of subjects including the history of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and the
regeneration of Sir Richard Arkwright’s Cromford Mills.
Our conference team will gladly work with you to create a day that your delegates won’t forget.
“As a regular user of the centre, the personal service we receive makes using the facilities very straight
forward. It is a great place to train. A relaxed, reliable and friendly service with great food.”
Marianne Rawson HEALTH PROMOTION
“...a happy place catered for by happy people.”
Rose Schofield UNIVERSITY OF DERBY
“Cromford Mills Conferencing has an appealing rustic feel, with a sense of space and history all
around. The staff are helpful and the catering serves good simple food that is very reasonably priced,
and it is well located for the bus and train.”
