Press Statement crossing the line in first position after
a bold debut showing at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Press Statement produced an impressive and special win for the team on debut at Canterbury this week. He was bred by successful ownerbreeder Tony Muollo, who bred and raced his half-brother Pressday with the stable, providing Chris with his first juvenile Group One winner
back in 2010 and if we dare to dream, this colt could go on to be another very good horse for the team. Zodiac Blues, Disgraceful and Libidosun
rounded off our winners thus far this week as we look towards the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup this afternoon with Trade Commissioner looking
to record back to back wins with stable-mate Our Voodoo Prince also in the race. Tomorrow promises to be a big day just outside of Sydney at
Hawkesbury with Hawkesbury Gold Cup Day tomorrow, won by the stable with Coup Ay Tee in 2013.
At the moment we have the team spread far and wide and as well as Gold Coast, we have talented Wine Tales on a Morphettville mission as our
first South Australian runner for the Australasian Oaks. She arguably provides the omen bet of the day for the team with South Australia the ‘Wine
Capital of Australia’ - let’s hope the Ingham Family’s home-bred filly comes home with a Group One tale to tell.

Exciting juvenily Press Statement looked a
very smart prospect when scoring on debut at
Canterbury on Wednesday over 1100m. Ridden
by Tye Angland, he settled nicely in midfield
where he was travelling strongly throughout the
race.
The son of Hinchinbrook got a split between
rivals on straightening and raced to the lead at the
100m left to record a relatively easy debut win.
He certainly looks to have a bright future and
despite the lure of Queensland, Chris would like
to hold him back as he feels that he will be even
better in six months time.

3yo G by Lonhro x Ancient Song by Canny Lad
Having been narrowly beaten at his previous
start Zodiac Blues gained a deserved maiden
success when winning over 1600m at Gosford on
Saturday.
Thomas Huet was aboard and had the gelding
well positioned throughout the race. Travelling
well in third position, he moved into second place
with 400m left to run and once asked he powered
through the heavy ground for a comfortable
victory. A cracking type, Zodiac Blues should gain
confidence from this victory and we expect him
to continue to progress for the Hermitage team.

3yo G by Redoute’s Choice x They Say (Thirty Six Red)
Promising 3yo Disgraceful produced back to back wins when scoring a solid victory over 1300m at Wyong on Thursday. Ridden by
Jimmy Cassidy for owner John Singleton, the son of Redoute’s Choice handled the heavy underfoot conditions extremely well.
This was only his fifth raceday start for disgraceful and he is building an enviable record of two wins to go with two placings.

Libidoson built on his solid debut when scoring decisively at Wyong on Thursday over 1000m. Ridden by Tye Angland, the gelding
was in a good position throughout the race, travelling well in the heavy ground.
When Tye asked for maximum effort, the son of Haradasun responded gamely to score a gutsy maiden success and a well-deserved
win for his successful breeders and owners, Mr Michael Birchall and his daughter Catherine.

Waller keeping watch on Kool Kompany
A horse Chris Waller hopes can deliver his stable another Doncaster Mile will have his next assignment in one of England's most
prestigious races.Kool Kompany is one of four runners for trainer Richard Hannon in Saturday's 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
The colt is owned by a syndicate headed by Neil Werrett who negotiated
a deal after Kool Kompany was passed in at $A1.3 million at last year's
Doncaster Bloodstock Sale.Waller has won five Doncasters including the
past three and Kool Kompany will join him later this year with the Group
One feature a target in 2016.
Werrett has shared in the ownership of several Waller-trained imported
horses including Australian Group One winners Foreteller and Moriarty.
"I'm looking forward to him racing in the Guineas and I'm hoping he could
be a Doncaster horse," Werrett said.
"He will come to Australia later this year to be trained by Chris Waller.
"I think he is an exciting prospect."
A Group Two winner as a juvenile, Kool Kompany led all the way to win
the Group Three Craven Stakes at his first attempt at 1600 metres.His
stablemate Estidhkaar is the most favoured of the Hannon quartet in the
Guineas (1600m) at 13-2 with Coolmore's Gleneagles the 13-8 favourite.
The Hannon-trained Ivawood is at 14-1 with Kool Kompany generally
available at 20-1 as is Moheet, third in the Craven Stakes as favourite.
Waller believes Kool Kompany will be suited to Australian racing and is looking forward to his arrival.
"I think he could well be a Doncaster horse for next year," he said.
Triple Honour gave Waller his first Group One win in the 2008 Doncaster. His record in the race now includes Rangirangdoo in
2010, Sacred Falls in 2012 and 2013 and Kermadec earlier this month.SOURCE, Caryl Williamson AAP
HAWKESBURY CUP TEAM ON TRACK
They have raced at Dalby in Queensland, Epsom in England, South Australia's Balaklava and the famous French course Longchamp.
In fact, Chris Waller's seven Hawkesbury Gold Cup runners have competed at more than 50 different tracks between them.
But just one has been to Hawkesbury - once. Of the
trainer's runners in Saturday's Hawkesbury Gold Cup,
Strawberry Boy (pictured) is the only horse to have raced at
the track, posting a Listed win there last spring.
However, his experience around the circuit looks likely to
count for much less than the wet track prowess of some of
his stablemates.
Hawkesbury was still in the soft range on Thursday but
track manager Jeff Haynes admitted the forecast was bleak
and if the predicted rain did fall, the surface would be heavy
come race day.
"There is 20 to 40 mils predicted tomorrow (Friday) and
20 to 40 mils predicted on Saturday. That's the worry,"
Haynes said.
If the track does deteriorate, Waller has flagged scratching Strawberry Boy and German horse Flamingo Star. But he won't hesitate
to run last-start winner Rugged Cross who is unbeaten in two starts on heavy ground.
All of Waller's Cup acceptors began their careers with different trainers, either overseas or interstate, with Rugged Cross doing his
early racing in England. His best Australian form has been around 1400m but he has been placed over longer and Waller is confident
Rugged Cross will have no issue with the 1600 metres of the Hawkesbury feature.
"He's won on a heavy nine over 1500 (metres) at Rosehill so I don't think it will be a concern," he said.
"His wet track form is superior to most, he's in winning form, he's got his winning jockey on from last start and he's well weighted
on the limit. He ticks a lot of boxes."
Stablemate Danchai is one of only two other runners in the field with a heavy-track win, the other being the Mike Moroney-trained
Surpass.
Danchai's victory was in an English maiden, which he won by nine lengths, but his overall Australian form has been patchy. He didn't
fire in the spring on mainly firm tracks but did score a recent barrier trial win.
"He's one that could improve on a wet track and hopefully be in for a return to form over the winter, although he'll appreciate a bit
further," Waller said.

gold Cup to honour late owner
It is rare that Chris Waller favours one of his runners over others in a race, but the
premier trainer would love to see Rugged Cross win Saturday’s Hawkesbury Cup.
Rugged Cross was part-owned by long-standing Waller supporter Ken Hunt, who
died last week. “It was his last winner when it won at Randwick and it will be his
first runner since he’s passed away and it would be great to see him win,” Waller
said.
“He was a good man and took shares in a lot of horses, and was with me from day
one. Hawk Island was probably his best.”
Hunt, took shares in the majority of Waller’s imports, enjoying a lot of success.
Rugged Cross has proven wet track form and is one of seven Waller runners in the
cup.

Katie Allen is one of our Melbourne-based track-work riders and this week she kindly
took the time to tell us a bit about herself...
I’m the swift and nimble track rider from the Yarra Valley. I grew up breeding and racing
greyhounds with a love for horse racing. Previously I worked at Darren Weir’s where I
had a bad fall and suffered from a severe brain injury, but I’m glad to be back on track and
moving forward again.
You can find me around the stables fighting with Rex, the stable dog, for carrots or having
everyone strip the stable in search for my keys and calling RACV before finding them in
his bed...
Nickname? Flash Allen.
Best quote? If you were a cake...
Favourite part of the job? I love everything about the stable and my job :) But I
mostly love seeing one of our horses win and how excited the whole team gets about it.
Favourite horse? Trade commissioner and Scandal Sheet.
Best horse ever seen? Black caviar but Redoute’s Choice was my favourite.
Role model? Nikita Berriman and Michelle Summers.
Favourite food? Lemons, but my dentist says I can only have one a day because they’re bad for your teeth.
Favourite jockey? Nick Hall and Nikita Berriman.
If you weren’t in racing, what would you have done? Raced the camels at Uluru.
If you could invite two people for dinner, who would you invite? My dog Molly and my best friend Amy.
Event in the world that you would most like to attend? BURNING MAN
What would you do with your last $5? This happened to me once in Burma, and I bought a sling shot that looked like a turtle
and realised I didn’t have enough money for a taxi to the airport...
