We have had several families ask about the foreign exchange program that is housed at
Grace in the summer and indicated they would like to host a student. Below is
information on the program:
The Best Community Event is Coming to Marion County this
summer!
Open your home to an international exchange student for 3 - 4
weeks and have a fun-filled summer!
EF (Education First), has an exciting opportunity for you to host a student or from Spain,
Russia, Italy, or China this summer, for 3 1/2 weeks this summer. Become a volunteer
host family and share our American culture and lifestyle with an exchange student, while
they share their culture with you. They are here to study English language and American
culture, and participate in daily class, activities and field trips, Monday thru Friday,
8:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., with EF Program Staff. As a host family, we ask you to provide a
bed, meals and transportation to a nearby designated bus stop, where a school bus will
transport them to their class and activities, each day. These students are middle school
to high school aged, they are fully insured and have their own spending money. Host
family high school teens can earn 30 to 60 hours of community service for hosting. Our
host families, who open their homes and hearts for these few weeks in the summer, are a
vital aspect of this program. Imagine the impact you will have on a young life and the
friendships you will make. Call now to sign up: Karen Wood, EF Site Director, 352-2390578.
