8th Graders Visit D.C.
Spine Poetry Contest
Over 75 students participated in the Spine Poetry Contest. The
contest was arranged/organized by Mrs. Mitchell, MS media
specialist, to celebrate National Poetry Month and School Library Month. Students stacked books on top of one another so
that the book titles on the spine created a poem. Mrs. Limongelli, Mrs. Zaorski, Ms. Glynn and Ms. Sculfort assisted Mrs. Mitchell in judging the many impressive entries.
8th graders attending the annual D.C. trip observed their classmates assisting with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier. The students enjoyed the 3 day educational trip by visiting many museums, historic sites and federal buildings.
“April Showers Bring May Allergies”
All Middle School students enjoyed outside recess for the month
of April but with the recent pollen count being at an all-time
high, we have temporarily relocated the students indoors for
lunch recess. They have been enjoying recess in the gymnasium
and we hope to get back outside early next week.
Awards were presented to the following students: Owen Deutschman – winner,
8th grade; Dan Crane – winner, 7th grade; Amanda Lota – winner, 6th grade.
Honorable mentions went to Naz Brady and Isabel Traphagen – 8th grade;
Danielle Pragdat and Christina Kim – 7th grade; Jack Culhane, Christian Domino, Jared Franz, Faith Hiras, Raegan Johnson, Simi Kaur, Alex Liberti and
Carlos Mascari – 6th grade.
